Treadmill arrived. Delivery men only leave on the doorstep nowadays so have spent the morning risking a hernia wrestling the 198kg beast into position. I will attempt to assemble this afternoon.

We have christened it Czernobog. Steels will get it.

I think the wife and daughter will be using it more than me, I have fallen into a nice routine of some brief intensive exercise, including a few of Woody’s moves, daily, and a three mile crippled style jog every other day. Feeling good.

Hope after a good session on it you don't feel you've been hit over the head with a sledgehammer

Not keeping fit, and not worth a separate thread, but how are people on here coping with personal grooming during lockdown? I desperately need a haircut, and the longer my hair was getting, the greyer it was getting, which pissed me off, so I decided to dye it. What harm could it do if I'm not going anywhere? I bought a dye pack from Superdrug - light brown, which was probably my colour before grey began to take over - and got my wife to apply the stuff.

'Restores your natural colour' is the strapline, but I don't think anyone could think this colour was natural in any way. It's a kind of dark orangey brown which looks so odd that it gives the impression of being a wig. To top this off, my daughter decided that my eyebrows (which were still mainly grey) needed trimming and set about them with the scissors, cutting them back more and more until they were barely visible.

I now look like Neil Warnock wearing Andrew Neil's syrup.

    I demand photographic evidence!

I’m considering going for a number 2 or 3 all over. I already have a monk’s tonsure of bald patch, so this would not be a radical change.......we have the technology although my wife keeps on saying that she wants to use it on the dog, so I better move fast.....

I couldn't possibly publish my current look. I think I'm going to go for a crop and to this end have just bought myself some clippers, or a 'home hair dressing kit for men' as it says on the box. A snip (geddit?) at £39.99.

Interestingly, the place I bought this kit had hand-written signs in the window advertising Covid-19 testing kits! It's a pharmacy on Park Road near Lord's (it's actually called Lord's pharmacy) and my interest was piqued by the sign, so I went in and asked about them. The young lady behind the counter informed me that the owner of the pharmacy was a Harley Street consultant and that's how he was able to source them. They were self-administered swab kits, which were certificated and could be posted direct to a lab for a result in 2-3 days - at a cost of £200! She was quick to point out that they were for people with symptoms and that they couldn't tell you if you had already had the virus. If they had been selling antibody tests - and they were a reasonable price - I would have bought one.

Mrs TR has been cutting my hair for years so no change really.....

My part of the bargain is that every 3 months or so I apply a henna dye to Mrs TR so that the roots are the same colour as the rest.....

Being at home with Mrs Squat has kept me fitter than ever, especially since the mild dementia has kicked in.

I spend most of the day walking back & forth asking her to repeat the list of chores around the house.

Yesterday’s three 5 minute jobs took over four hours and wore out two pairs of joggers and left me with a cork in my calf!

l tell you, it’s not easy being trim, taunt & terrific at 58 but someone has to do it.

My kids persuaded me to dye my hair back to a dark brown a few years ago immediately prior to a two week foreign holiday (remember them?). It looked so-so when first applied the night before the flight out. But first dip in the hotel pool on Day One and I must’ve started a chemical reaction resulting in becoming a Ginger (sorry Stan!). Kids thought it was hill-hairy-arse.

Like others, I’m in desperate need of a trim. I’m blessed with a full head of wire, so the longer it gets the more like Beaker off the Muppets I become.

Well done on the whole hair thing, mate.

My head of hair reminds me of a bomber crew. I ended up having a crew cut but the crew have started bailing out and the bomber has crash landed leaving a runway down the middle of the old scone, if you get my gist.

Sb, l bought one of those things that you can adjust settings from 1-5, is battery operated and you continually wave it round and round until you’ve either run out of hair or your arm falls off.

It came with some electric shears so Mrs Squat can practice shaving the back of the melon in a straight line.

The current settings are 2 on the sides and 3 in top ( where relevant). Mrs Squat says l look great from 200 hundred metres away.

200 metres? That’s ambitious, I’m aiming for looking good through a telescope.

I can describe my current look. Imagine touching a live electrical socket and there you have it. Hair all over the place. I think i'm too old to become a punk (although I do like some of the music) but I have the hair for it....with the grey in it I can say it was an attempt at bleaching that went wrong

and cycling every other day. Last Sunday was a great day. Cycling near to me in local woods a Buzzard flew straight in front of me having seen a potential dinner in the long grass. Noticed the long wing span so knew it was something I hadn't seen there before but annoyed I didn't have my phone with me to photo this amazing bird. Have been back but so far not seen it.

Come on give us a picture.

I am now at the stage of requiring a haircut for mental health and self respect reasons. Of course all the clippers are sold out everywhere or at ridiculous prices.

Too late, I now look almost respectable. The Ronald Reagan-like dark russet has now faded to a kind of gingery blonde, but more importantly the Babyliss clipper set that I bought (only forty quid) has paid off and my wife has cut my hair into a style something reminiscent of the Dick Emery skinhead character.
