It is actually starting to get on my nerves how long it is taking. It’s making me wonder if there is a glitch. None premier league related. Ashley moving the goal posts?
He cannot. A sales purchase agreement has be signed and lodged with PL. Plus, there is a separate contract granting PCP exclusivity. Significant breach of contract.
True but other things could affect it. Like the impending hmrc investigation liability. When that concludes who pays that? Or this new fake bid of 350m.
I reckon we're looking at Friday. If it takes a few days for the money to clear as is being reported.
Apparently we've actually made contact with Coutinho's agents. Another thought here is how they want to do this. Could they potentially be getting a load of stuff lined up, like this lad or Koulibaly, alongside a DoF and new manager and literally exploding with massive news? I'd guess that takes a little time to sort out. Coutinho, Koulibaly, Mertens - they are all names Rafa covets, just saying.
We could end up with none of them. I think they like to have an announcement followed by a Big Bang which shows there intentions so yes that is possible.
Very shortly after UAE took control of City didn't they announce Robinho? It may be that Saudi wants to out-do them. What happened with PSG/Qatar?
I think enough would be a new manager of say top drawer. Players can come afterwards for me. Just getting **** of Ashley would be enough for me.
PSG's an interesting one. They were never traditionally a big boy of Ligue 1. Marseille (pre-scandal), Bordeaux, Lyon were traditionally the bigger clubs. Going further back, Saint Etienne were one of the big ones. PSG won one league title in their history before QSI took them on. Since they they've won 6 of 7 championships. Back in 2010 they were as obscure a choice as Man City, really. And there's a lot of similarities. Iconic stadium, loyal and large fan base, and effectively a one club city - astonishing, given the size of Paris. (Paris FC really don't count!). Lot of redevelopment has happened since, but France is a limited league and will never reach the heights of the PL.

Is Rafa still in China or did he come home before all international travel was banned? Wondering if it could be a takeover + Rafa announcement. Transfer window is shut so i'm not sure what we could announce player wise unless we can get an agreement in principle or something for a player to sign once the transfer window opens. I don't believe the announcement is being delayed due to PL checks or money changing hands so it has to be something else.
A lot depends on the model they go for. A progressive model would need a DoF and a head coach type, which is what City did with Mancini. The operations side is going to be huge and a lot needs to go into it. Often that person isn't a known quantity, they're not front line so not well know. I still couldn't tell you who does it at City. Personally I would like to see Rafa back, but in that DoF role. I think he knows what it takes to make a club successful, but I don't really want to see him ordering players about on the field. Having Rafa overseeing the project would be great - but I don't think he'd want to be away from the football side. That said, Pep did it and he was/is the biggest name on the planet.
Keegan back as ambassador. Rename Shearers Bar. Pochettino as boss. Invest heavily in the training ground and academy. Reconnect the club with community. No kid on Tyneside should wear anything but NUFC tops.
With all the delays going on I can’t see it happening now and I've kept really quiet, but I'll tell you something, Nev went down in my estimation when he said what he said. We have not resorted to that, but I'll tell you, you can tell him now if he’s reading it, we're still fighting for this sale, and Staveley’s got to go to The PL and get something, and... and... I'll tell you, honestly, I will love it if Ashley sells this Club, love it!
