The situation has changed. We’ve had an election you may recall.

Which brings me back to the question you ducked yesterday. What do you expect him to do? If turkeys insist on Christmas and explaining that Christmas is unlikely to benefit turkeys makes the turkeys want it even more then there’s not much hope of saving them. If Brexiteers were as honest about the impact Christmas has on turkeys it may be different but he can’t change that.

For clarity, you aren’t the turkey in this situation. Workington Man who can barely afford to live as it is is the turkey.

That's not a question and ****ing lol

I'd be embarrassed if I was a Tory supporter and someone put this point across, whilst Starmer probably would prefer to reverse the decision but is aware 'the people' see this as too late and not something that can be done. Where as Boris's change in position was due to a gamble on becoming PM and totally pissed all over any principles he doesn't appear to have.

You have to wonder if the other Tory's on here will be shaking their heads at that lack of awareness of bloody mindedness that he sees the Tory's are immune to be held to any standards or be expected to tell the truth under any circumstances

I agree, Starmer cant follow the other idiot's policies and will have to adapt. However, if he changes too much which he appears to be doing then people like me will say where are is his principles? People can change but in politics, it normally comes with a frown.
I will agree that he is better than the last bloke (which isn't hard).

PS thank you for your comments on the other post. :emoticon-0148-yes: they really are <doh>

Anyone who uses that as a stick to beat him with and ignores the Tories being far worse for the same thing wasn’t going to vote for him anyway.

Well, my mate is a Labour voter... not sure he voted Tory last time as he was candid but hated Corbyn. Maybe Limps? He thinks Starmer lacks charisma and already he is not comfortable with him. This is the problem that Labour has. Starmer was part of the last debacle and not a fresh face.

The problem is charisma really shouldn't be a highly sort after commodity when it comes to a PM, welcome to the current situation where a meaningless soundbite will get you elected rather than a robust manifesto

imagine if starmer stuck to reversing the referendum, we'd probably have someone calling him a nazi dictator and against the will of the people

Well yeah Boris would undoubtedly make a better game show host. Shame he can’t be trusted to turn up to meetings or read anything more time-consuming than a copy of Razzle. Not sure what actual skills he has for the role.

No, simply a typical, high-handed EU executive

It means that if Starmer tried to overturn a democratic referendum, he'd be behaving like the EU executives (like Tusk) who push for another referendum when it doesn't go their way

The government is still high in the polls. The media is getting low ratings from the public (particularly newspaper journalists). I think the govt is firing on all cylinders now. Agree, any earlier mistakes must be picked over carefully in due course, particularly the lack of protective clothing for NHS
