Still depressing. Listening to him and his mates bantzing on the Xbox knowing he doesn't own so much as one CD. (bar the modern equivalent of Pinky & Perky)
Thats what i mean tho mate, kids are into different things because there's a million different things available to kids now. Why would he be into Music if he can't go dancing for example. That will come with going out. I'm sure
Royston hates me. I could get him from placid to frothing at the mouth in about 5 posts. Leave him be mate.
First gig? Mine was Ian Gillan. Then the Michael Schenker Group. Had tickets to see Ozzy Osbourne but he bit the head off a bat and got ill, silly ****. Probs got Covid 19 or something. Rock n Roll.
CDs are where it all went wrong anyway mate. Nothing compares to being 14 and pulling Ziggy Stardust out of the sleeve, while being extra careful to hold it by the middle and edge, without touching the tracks
Not my first gig by any means, but seeing The Damned, supported by The Adverts, at Southampton Students Union changed the world forever. After that, off went the long hair, and the Hawkwind and Led Zep albums got hidden under the bed.
Had a next door neighbour about four years older than me, plus my own brother is three yeas older. He had all the Bowie stuff, used to listen round theirs. Even his laughing gnome album, which was a bit daft but was Bowie so very cool! Things like Magazine, Buzzcocks and Sparks I remember listening to when young. The sad truth is, current music and the format it's issued in is utterly **** by comparison
4 weeks from this weekend. Even if it was going to be better by then (it won't imo) my pal who I'm going with hasn't been earning any money for the past 5 weeks. Gonna try go September time instead.
Where we are the summer has shifted. Pretty much the same across Britain I think, but best months are May, June & July. August is usually **** and it's full on autum(nal) by September. We go away for 2-3 weeks in August, best out of it.
