I mentioned one point per game left (not that I like it), as one of the journos on The Mail had mooted it (Ladyman, I think). I just said it was fairer than null and void, but that doesn't mean it's fair at all.
However this season ends (and next season starts) will be different. I just find it bizarre that there are calls to cancel/terminate/end/ stop whatever now, when the league wouldn't have ended for a few weeks anyway. In fact, some of those calls started a month ago. Seems utterly senseless. I think it was Rommel who said you should never make a decision until you have to make a decision, but that's only going from my senile old memory.
can you imagine the complications of even playing "behind closed doors"? One player shows symptoms and the whole team gets locked down if they travelled together. If they all travel individually how many other squad members do you ask to show up just in case. A linesman shows symptoms and is refused entry to the ground, ok use the fourth official oh wait, we need a new fourth official. It's not easy.
That bit wasn't aimed at you mate, didn't even know you had mentioned it. I did know it had been mentioned by a few on here and in the news.
No, it’s a nightmare. It doesn’t end there, there’s the ancillary staff, TV crews, medical teams etc. Not to mention security, police to ensure fans don’t rock up, an ambulance on standby, and so it goes on. It’s alright the PL saying they’ll have some cack handed St George’s Park group games type thing. But what about the lower leagues? Where are they doing this? Many of them have furloughed their players down in the lower reaches, they can’t bring them back without a revenue stream, and certainly can’t afford to put on games at their own grounds without any cash coming through the gates. It’s a ****ing mess.
Well something must have changed No idea where but in the last two days there have been significant developments in things. I have received two phone calls - one asking how quickly i can have the Beach Patrol up and running, and a second phone call from my daughters other coach saying she is getting a call tomorrow from a rep from a football club to offer her a trial. I have no idea why this call would be being made right now, seems very odd but will know more tomorrow, the beach being included because it is odd it came on a Saturday ? So i am thinking there have been some discussions somewhere about all this ****. Certainly hope so as need something to offer some kind of hope right now. The world is **** - hope everyone is keeping well out there. Edit just realised its Monday HMOC ! - so not odd but something must be happening ?
FIFA proposes 5 subs per game to help with the schedule, but the 2 bonus ones can only be used at HT to avoid time wasting
Yeah such a pain for football clubs to actually play football games. Perhaps they should all just become cafes or something else a bit easier to organise.
Just imagine how much scouse you could sell at the Anfield cafe. You could be onto something here, 30 years of misery ended with a new business.
Don't recall much misery last year TBH please log in to view this image BTW this will probably be the biggest parade for all time now we're in the virus era
I'm glad that some have now taken the time to read what UEFA have actually said about declaring leagues - although Diego remains a law unto himself - so the shouts of using last year/coefficients/void ...... can finally stop. Interesting to see that Belgium are considering a u-turn on ending their season, couldn't possibly be anything to do with not getting European competition places if they go ahead with cancelling I'm sure. Championship and leagues 1 and 2 looking at BCD start on 6 June. The money argument works both ways. If the PL are deemed greedy for wanting to carry on does that mean the lower leagues also are? Of course it doesn't. The lower leagues need to get back to playing so they have enough money to survive. The same is true for some PL clubs, Norwich I believe have already come out and said they are in trouble.
You know what's a good idea when you're wondering about something - go and look for the answer. It really isn't that hard. I don't expect you to change habits though as you continue to make an art form of spreading misinformation and downright lies because you can't be bothered to go and check facts before posting.
yeah cos the Prime Minister tests positive so all members of his cabinet and all staff at No 10 & 11 have to self isolate . My local Sainsburys had to close after all staff had to self isolate after Beryl from checkout 5 tested positive . Not sure what country you are living in but it can't be this one .
We've had @ 15% of our staff at any given moment self-isolating at our depot (railway), primarily, it has to be said, because they can't get ****ing tested. We're still having to tell most staff to stay at home on-call. Not once has the whole depot had to self-isolate because some colleagues have.
