    We made the FA Cup final QF that season and I was lucky enough to have breakfast in the United boardroom, it was a lunchtime kick off. I was the only non United supporter in the room. A pair of their senior stewards came round with the League Trophy decked out in their colours and asked at every table if you wanted to have your picture taken with it. Being a smart arse I replied that I would wait until it had blue and white ribbons on it. The even smarter steward quickly replied “I dare say you will have an awfully long wait sir”. Touche. They beat us 2-0 in a canter although I do recall Gallen having a decent chance when it was goalless.
