My mate stayed in ICU about the same amount of time Watford... Maybe I should ask him if he was after sympathy?
I did say that the Tories got rid of the deadwood and new faces and promotions would happen. Rishi Sunak is a good example of a fast-rising MP.

Sunak seems like a very bright and eloquent guy. He’s clearly no mug based on his past career. He’s been willing to sell himself out to Johnson and Cummings where even Big Saj wouldn’t so I don’t doubt he’s ambitious. Not sure Saj’s sudden abdication of the role was down to ability though. Still, we mustn’t question Dom.

Firstly you owe me a 'like' as I don't have the "likely lads". <laugh>
Funny how people's perception of MP's change? When Brexit was on Saj was the public enemy like the rest of the Brexitiers... now he seems a decent fellow and Rishi who is becoming very popular is a yes man?
So what does that make Starmer? He supported the doomed Corbyn all the way and agreed with all his policies... until he wanted to distance himself. <laugh>

They’re completely incomparable situations. Javed left the second most powerful job in the country (third if you include the PM’s special adviser) because he was told to sack his staff. He was happy to back Johnson but it’s a big leap from that to accepting being a puppet Chancellor, which was effectively what he was asked to be. Sunak is clearly sharp. Not sure those big speeches a month or so ago are doing a lot for the self-employed right now as the banks drag their heels.

Starmer is/was a Remainer. Corbyn was an ardent leaver for decades without even having a hedge fund-related interest in doing so.

Corbyn a leaver! <yikes> We didn't know because he never said it! I am interested in your views on Starmer TBH.
So he followed and agreed with Jezza's unelectable plan (plus free broadband <laugh>). We know he was a yes man because I saw him on TV dozens of times saying how fab Jezza and his manifesto was. The public overwhelmingly rejected Corbyn. So what are your thoughts on Starmer?

If Ellers didn’t realise that Corbyn was a staunch leaver and has been for many years....then it just goes to show his limited knowledge of politics.

Generous words by Mr Gove?
EU has had to 'set aside principles' during coronavirus outbreak, claims Michael Gove
"We've seen the way that during the Covid-19 crisis some of the principles of the European Union have been set aside very prudently by the EU to enable member states to take the appropriate steps required, and we have seen both on restrictions of border movements and also on economic interventions actions by individual member states, national governments, which in ordinary time the EU would have found difficult to countenance."

What he should have said was countries ignored the EU and did their own thing sending shockwaves through the corridors of Brussels.

Except that having cornered Corbyn and forced him to have a Remainer 2nd Referendum manifesto, and seen Corbyn solidly shafted at the election, Starmer has now appointed a Brexiteer to be his chief of policy

I appreciate that until we finally push the economy off a cliff some people won’t be happy including those who have lived very comfortable lives in part thanks to the EU but not everything has to be seen through a Brexit lens. It’s happening. You won. Maybe his chief of policy is someone who would be good at the role for lots of reasons.

Any thoughts on my first paragraph? Probably not.

They must have moved quickly as they were apparently talking about it about three minutes ago.

Probably, yes, though I’m not an expert on Italian demography but expect there are enough thick as mince old right wingers there along with a textbook example from us of how to go about it. In any economic downturn the far right swoop in and take advantage so no reason this should be any different.

I know its the Express but what it says is spot on. I will even go as far as saying I heard an interview from a pro-EU Italian MEP who said since the virus he has lost all his support from people back home and he believes that they will leave the block.

EU's final WARNING: Horror in Brussels as Italian poll finds huge number want to QUIT bloc.

Who's fault was the economic downturn in Italy? You need to have a chat with a few Italians mate because they will tell you straight.
Rather than call people 'thick Gammons' and other stuff you should ask a question why?

I’m sure some of the ardent leavers over there will be firmly from the Far-Left, Bracknell ;)

Starmer is changing his colours. He knows he won't stand a chance of regaining Northern seats otherwise.

What would you do in his situation? There’s no convincing the entrenched that they’re wrong no matter how logical the argument. People are that determined to eat their **** sandwich so the guy can only play the hand he’s been given.

You probably shouldn’t ask questions if you’ve already decided on the answers.
