So you’re pretending to not understand the hypocrisy of a journalist writing an article criticising a Company being purchased by Saudi money whilst working for a Company part owned by Saudi money? Also please read what I say not what you want to read. I haven’t anywhere dismissed the content of the article. I have simply questioned the motives of the author of the article. I have no intention on a thread derailed onto the NUFC takeover saga of spending time commenting on Saudi Arabia and its politics especially to readers who aren’t really interested in reading my views on that issue.
Only, your initial reply to the post containing the article was that you were more concerned about a Saudi individuals part ownership of a newspaper and the possible effect on the papers content, than you would be about the Sovereign State Fund owning Newcastle. A position which fell apart like a cheap suit given the article in question was outlining the criticism of the Saudis taking over Newcastle. Which hardly smacks of Saudi lead editorial input And no, you’ve offered no view on Saudi Arabia, as you chose instead to post ad hominem about the author and deflect away from the content of the piece itself, which speaks volumes.
Misread or deliberate misquote again Tobsey. Firstly, my initial response was about hypocrisy. Please re-read and you will see that that is the case. The second comment was about concerns in general about Saudi ownership of a newspaper being of more concern than Saudi ownership of a football club which incidentally is a reasonable and fair stance. The second point, however, is a side point and doesn’t stop the motives of the author of the article for writing the article being hypocritical. And if you don’t believe that in a State such as Saudi that this Saudi individual doesn't have connections with the State then dream on. “Mr Abuljadayel is associated with NCB Capital, the investment banking arm of Saudi Arabia’s National Commercial Bank. The lender is majority owned by the Saudi government through its Public Investment Fund.” On not commenting about the article speaking volumes you sound just like my wife now. TGD’S WIFE: Do you like this dress? TGD: I’m watching football sweetheart. TGD’S WIFE: You hate it!!! TGD: i didn’t say that. TGD’S WIFE: You didn’t have to. (Goes away crying)
No ... because it is perfectly possible to be a member of a political party without neccesarily supporting every policy ... happy to help
Now that really is stretching the realms of relevance beyond breaking point. Tantamount to asking whether the Lone Ranger was a good guy or bad guy because he wore a mask. Knowing our luck it probably will.
