Always good to see hypocrisy being supported. Or do you really not know who part owns the Independent? As one of the comments state I’d be more concerned that one of our national newspapers may be subject to editorial influence by the Saudi government, far more worrying than them owning an English football club. Don’t really get the impression that your heart is in this WUM attempt.
Hang on, so you’re suggesting that a Saudi owning 30% of a newspaper is a worry, by citing an article in said newspaper criticising the prospect of a Saudi takeover of Newcastle? Logic fail.
No. I am suggesting that the article is written by someone who is displaying a convenient degree of hypocrisy contending that there is a moral vacuum for those accepting the Saudi takeover of NUFC whilst happily being employed by a Newspaper part owned by Saudi money. That’s why in my initial post I mention “supporting hypocrisy”. No logic fail. As an aside I would also be more concerned on the “whitewashing” or “sportswashing” front about one of our National Newspapers being part owned by Saudi Arabia than a PL club being majority owned by Saudi Arabia. But that’s just me.
So you’re pretending to not understand the difference between the Saudi Sovereign State fund buying a controlling interest in a football club and the idea of how sportswashing works, and a Saudi investor buying a minority stake in a newspaper? Right oh, if that helps you justify to yourself why the actual content of the piece has no merit, then you crack on love.
Honestly. It wasn’t even worth me adding to your two top draw replies. Think you nailed it in the first comment to be fair, grinding his spirit with the second.
