I would welcome that. I'm working sooo much at the moment as we keep losing staff members. I badly need a break tbh.

I seem to remember you work in a rehab? Or some sort of mental health unit?

On SSP? Don't see why anyone would volunteer for that unless actually necessary.

I used to do the rehab work but for the last 8 years or so I've been working with looked after children that foster placements etc. have broken down. Plus young adults with behavioral issues, mental health etc.

So yeah can't just have time off as the system has already failed these kids countless times.

Can't mate. Couple of reasons. Kids wouldn't survive and SSP is nowhere near enough.

No, they're at home with symptoms or just refusing to work!

My dad died of it a few weeks ago that's why I wasn't on for ages. I wasn't close to him but still bad news.

Sorry to hear that . Well hopefully the ones with symptoms that want to work will be back .

Can they simply refuse to work ? I mean obviously they are , but is it legal ?

Bloke in work had to do the 14 day self isolate thing because his wife had it.

He wanted full sick pay (to be fair, he's staff so his contract is full pay when sick for whatever period) but as he isn't actually sick, it's ssp.

He took furlough instead. 3 weeks on 80% or two weeks SSP?
