Donny J went AWOL from the US press conference yesterday saying they were a waste of time and all he received was hostile questions ... sure it had nothing to do with the fact that pundits are reporting that the President's re-election popularity rating hasn't risen during the conferences, if anything it's dropped ... or that Dettolgate and the desperate "sarcasm" strategy follow up has left many Americans with the uncomfortable realisation that their main man is, in fact, more than just a bit dim ...

 

Or the homeless ... 2 birds, 1 stone

ah but tat is why my post referred to the "total cost" rather than those designated as covid deaths as that is a "red herring" in some respects . The excess deaths figure is in reality the only one which matters imo as it accounts for those who died from covid 19 , who died while having covid 19 and those who died from the measures to contain the virus. We won't know the actual numbers who died from covid 19 just as we don't for flu.

 

If I die during this virus, I want it noted on my death certificate due to B&Q-19, COVID related.

Just watched the interview in America and they seem to be classing Covid-19 deaths in the same way as the UK.

‘The case definition is very simplistic, it means at the time of death it was a Covid positive diagnosis. So that means if you were in a hospice and had only been giving a few weeks to live and then you were found to have Covid-19, that would go down as a Covid death. That means technically if you died of a clear alternate cause but you had Covid at the same time, it’s still listed as a Covid death. Everybody who is listed as a Covid death doesn’t mean that was the cause of the death just that they had it at the same time’

and loads of others aren't listed as Covid-19 as they weren't tested hence excess death figure being a much better guide imo .

Indeed ...death in England and Wales care homes have quadrupled in a week ... 50% of covid deaths in the Irish Republic have occurred in care homes ... Belgium has the highest per capita Covid deaths of any country, no surprise that their figures include all Covid care home deaths...
