Morning all, having been supporting spurs some 52 years now this near total shutdown of the country made me think all the times I have put spurs first and turning down numerous chances of family get togethers and other events maybe there is more to life than football, it definitely makes you appreciate your loved ones more and the longer this lack of football goes on the more I'm thinking about more family time and days out .sorry to say it spurs are in my blood but the love for football is fading. Keep safe everyone <cheers>

I don't know if anyone else here plays FIFA, I have played for years and as a family we have been playing football simulations since the first cartridge game 'International Soccer' on the Commodore 64 back when even I was young. I am not very good my boys are both significantly better and play' ultimate team' whilst I have just generally played seasons, though they have persuaded me during this lock down to have a go and I never thought that I would get so excited about signing players that I would not normally know or care for.

However I digress, in recent years I have noted that the most realistic aspect of FIFA was the co-commentary of Alan Smith alongside Martin Tyler, which is dull, boring and often inaccurate just like the real thing. But recently (maybe FIFA 19) they introduced a 2nd commentary team of Derek Rae who I had never heard of and the legend that is Lee Dixon! But I think FIFA are taking the piss out of Dixon, I know that he must have recorded the words but I am not sure that he was aware of the way some of them would be formed into sentences as some of things he comes out with are plain ridiculous, like the comment that best centre forwards stand still in the centre of the box, and comments like this convince me that EA are having a laugh at his expense and fair play to them for that.

I've heard that turning on the foreign commentators improves it, as you (probably) can't understand them and they're more passionate.
They're almost certainly still talking a load of old balls, but still.

A brief summary of the comments
Arsenal fans: "What about Bergkamp's chip against Newcastle?"
Chelsea fans: "Obviously it's because the Asians all voted for it. What do you mean 'Shut up you racist ****'?"
    Saltypool fans: "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I have never played FIFA but my son plays it all the fracking time. But my goodness I remember the C64 soccer cartridge game!!! I also remember the first (or one of the first) of the management simulations "football manager". Put a lot into that one - I think every game the player lost a point of endurance and didn't recover it, so after a few games they couldn't play at all.
