Surely that can't be right or fair? If you not having any champions, promotion or relegation how can you award European places on where they've finished now (not saying you're wrong by-the-way, I don't know) but if you've voided this season, i.e. it hasn't happened then last season's places must still stand?
The below is a quote from an article on sky- "They have said they will only determine qualification based on 'sporting merit' this season. That is in their own guidelines. They are then leaving it for each league, each member association to determine what exactly sporting merit means but what they are saying is that in their words it should mean an 'objective, transparent and non-discriminatory principle' so ultimately it will now come down to each league in Europe to decide, if they cannot finish their season, how they determine those qualification routes.
Thanks, my point though is they do that then they haven't voided the league. In this instance they have effectively declared the season finished with the clubs 'finishing' in the current positions (if they award European places on where they now sit). Can see club lawyers taking the Dutch FA to court on this. If some clubs can qualify for Champions & Europa league why can't teams be named champions and others relegated?
Agreed to a point. The bottom 2 probably deserve to go down and the 2 in the division below deserve to go up. The title though you'd have Ajax winning it over AZ Alkmaar on goal difference by 9 goals. We've got the opposite issue in the Premier League whereby naming Liverpool as champions without the season resuming wouldn't be a massive issue based on likelihood, but the relegation spots certainly would.
Sorry, I’m not saying I’m right just that it’s not consistent to void the season but allocate European places on current standings. If the season is void, it didn’t happen, so last season’s teams should fill the places again surely?
At this point I’d happily settle for the Ppg option. Wait till maybe January to start our first season back in the pl. give things time to hopefully settle a little. Was just thinking we were lucky the season didn’t break up a month sooner before we hit our quality patch or it mightn’t have looked so cut and dry

The biggest issue we have, is that English football is split into 2 governing bodies. Whilst the teams in the EFL can vote for finishing the season and having teams promoted and relegated according to current positions, it can't claim 3 Premiership places, as it's not theirs to claim!! Some Premier League clubs could however, vote for such a scenario, it's wether or not the required number (14) do.
