Been out walking with the eldest and the dog today; did 4-5 miles but very little on flat ground, mainly stones and grass tracks. My brother and I live in separate villages that are only a couple of miles apart as the bird flies but about 8-9 miles via the road. We met halfway (as the bird flies) but we took a longer route there as I wasn't 100% on directions
Nice, you couldn't have picked a better time to get out there again ... what did you get? I'd recommend getting a dedicated pump with a pressure gauge on it if you're bothered about that sort of stuff
20 mile mostly flat spin this evening concentrating on cadence, just got in from that. Lovely temperature at 20C and conditions generally, had a short sleeve jersey with vest on and wished I didn't have the vest halfway in, but a bastard headwind as soon as you picked up any pace despite there being very little wind stationary. Traffic the busiest I've seen it for a while. A fair few out on bikes, mix of roadies (non-mamil, eurotwerp types this time) and casuals. Riding music of choice Parkway Drive
Intend to get a small dedicated pump with gauge so I can put it in my bag along with dinne small tools and side inner tube "just in case". I've found a lot of things are far more expensive at the minute (supply and demand!) do thought I'd wait. Need a helmet too but again, they're really expensive atm. I got a Carrera hybrid from Halfords... https://www.halfords.com/bikes/hybrid-bikes/carrera-crossfire-3-mens-hybrid-bike---small-651779.html
Roads are at least twice as busy as last week, maybe even treble. Relaxed rules around going friends houses (for a "break") and travelling for exercise as made driving about easy without fear of being questioned (I'm still taking and fetching the mrs to and from work so witnessing it first hand)
Got a cheap one from Asda earlier, only £8 and works a treat do long as you've been training your arm to move in a certain motion
I googled and found this... ... I've got hybrid tyres so went with 40psi with the idea that I can always add more but I guess it's easier to let air out than put more in Only going a cycle paths for now as I've not got a helmet yet
Any suggestions on apps to use to track distance, time, etc...? I've not got a watch thingy do needs to work via the phone
I went with Strava. Just done 12mile in 2.5hrs on first run out. More about finding my bearings, plus I had the 10 & 12 years olds with me.
Both my lads use Strava, one for bike rides and the other for runs ( he does half marathon and hill running or something like that). They seem to really like it and they are into researching apps for just about everything
It's very detailed if you're into that kind of thing. I just want too know how far and how long (peddling, not how long im out the house)
