Our relegation season, Jelavic started the season as good as any forward I have seen in a City shirt. He was injured in the prime of his form and actually never recovered. That was a weird pattern for that season, players getting into form and then getting injured. I think it was a freak season which turned us into a team comfortably becoming established in EPL to getting relegated

    Good choices D_B.

    I'd add:
    Alex Kolarov
    Petr Cech
    Ruud Van Nistelrooy :)emoticon-0105-wink:)
    Eden Hazard
    Christiano Ronaldo

Silva is the best player I've ever seen play live. One of those where a player pisses you off, because if he hadn't played I'm certain we'd have got a point at least, but at the same time you couldn't help but admire his influence on the game.

Think I did a thread after the game about Silva as he was that good. You’d think we’d go mental getting beat by ten men but it was a masterclass from him.

And our marquee signings getting bad/career-ending injuries. Snodgrass 2014 at the Dramas in 1st game, Ryan Mason, Bullard even Diame.

Just looked back and it was 2-0 to them but their second came in the 90th minute. So we were out classed but still in it to the death.

He certainly was, in fact when Kompany got sent off I thought we stood a chance of getting something from the game, but Silva put paid to that notion.

His brother wasn't bad, though in his last couple of seasons he was floundering.

Good shout...but he missed as many games as he played.

    Skertl at Lpool wasn't bad.
