Well as one of the last four teams to actually qualify for CL i would think Spurs are a shoe in <ok>

Not when they go ppg. It's all over Dayglo, it's play the season out or ppg. Only thing to determine is whether there'll be relegations or not. Cry me a river. <cry>

That’ll be why they’ve been discussing European coefficients then, as they’ve already decided.....

In a word....no.

In another words, put your money where your mouth is - is that Terry Darracott bet still on?

If I hadn't maxed my free Telegraph articles (I know you like them) , that makes it even more explicit that while Uefa is discussing co-efficients as a backstop in case some leagues go null and void (which Uefa has basically done all in its power to stop), its preferred outcome, if finishing the leagues is not possible, is PPG. It's seen as being the fairest method - because it is. :emoticon-0142-happy

So when do we get the title then?

Asking cos I'm so bored of this ****<laugh>

If and when it's decided that the league can't be finished, or after a few games behind doors, take your pick. Parade won't be till Dick docks though, unless we all agree to stand in clusters of 50 people max 10 yards apart. Which means the parade would start 200kms away (@ 125 miles) . Jarrow or Newport would make good starting points.

PPG hasn’t been decreed by UEFA or decided by the PL as the outcome that would be required IF completion is not possible.

Haven't UEFA mentioned something about mini tournaments for European qualification?

So it’s not ‘play it out or PPG’ then.

Thanks for clearing that up mate ;)

I'll quote both the Telegraph and the Mail saying that PPG is UEFA's second preference after finishing the league, and that co-efficients has only been suggested by UEFA as a means to determine whether they will let teams (or whole countries) participate in their tournaments if leagues do not abide by their instructions. But null and void is dead, PPG is UEFA's preferred backstop, and Rio will be mightily relieved that there is a way out of this that doesn't mean wicked Liverpool fans have to deliberately mass-cull the nation's elderly and vulnerable to be crowned champions.

That was, after all, the null-and-voiders only concern... :emoticon-0131-angel

An option, after finished the league or PPG (quoted by the Mail too now). Anything that meets their 'fairness' criteria for Euro placings .

All they’ve said is that the decisions on European placings should have ‘sporting merit’. They flew kites about mini tournaments etc, they’ve not said PPG is their preferred option if leagues can’t be completed at all. You’ve literally made it up.

If we null and void and go by last seasons results for European places that’s still based on sporting merit. Sporting merit pretty much covers every possible option doesn’t it?

"It is likely that Champions League places will be decided on a points-per-game basis if remaining matches cannot be played.

A play-off could also be held, but Premier League clubs are believed to favour PPG as the fairest method."

True, that was the Prem, according to the Mail. And the Telegraph (again). Do I need to post?

If we were determining places for the 2018/19 season, yeah.
