There is a report out that says this virus dies quite quickly in sunlight, hot temperatures and high humidity.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...tml?ito=push-notification&ci=13716&si=2141942

Well, it's sunny here, 38 degrees and 70% humidity. Vietnam say they have had no deaths and no infections for 7 days now. I guess this virus is not dissimilar to normal flu, it more active in winter than summer, probably for the same reason.

Which is what I posted 3 weeks ago to a barrage of criticism on here. The lockdown as it is, is not a good idea. It should have been for the elderly and vulnerable, with a huge emphasis on cleaning and disinfecting public and private areas. A disastrous policy.

Never has this been more appropriate.

It is, but for me there’s too much of the Twitterati criticising her for not calling bullshit. I’m guessing most of us have had moronic bosses and sat on our hands sometimes rather than challenging them. As a medical expert she probably wants to make a difference in this crisis and can do that better from within his team than she can from the dole queue.

You can see the conflict in her eyes
Having said that she’s not completely innocent. She’s said publicly before, when he wasn’t there and it wasn’t really needed, how fantastic Trump is at analysing scientific data and understanding it due to how successful he is as a businessman...

Whether lockdown is right or wrong only time will tell. What I can't support is the notion of sacrificing real covid-19 sufferers to save future domestic abuse victims and suicides which actually might not actually arise.

Once France, Spain and Italy had gone into lockdown, it was inevitable that we would to, the government's still getting slaughtered in many quarters just for trying to avoid it for as long as possible. It's also pretty much impossible for a government to come up with a policy which will double the death rate now, on the basis that it could only potentially prevent more deaths later.

Didn’t know that, as you say that puts it in another light. Compromising because you have to in order to make a difference is a bit different to just sucking it up to further your own career.

Although God only knows how anyone can work around him anyway.

Possibly one of the worst things I can imagine just now is if one of Trumps preposterous pronouncements turned out to be right. I might just become one of Heimdallr's post-lockdown suicide statistics.
