They could have changed it though. No idea when the last takeover of a club was done

report today that the activists are going after the government to intervene

I said a week ago they would it's not a great surprise .. they won't just give up.. these people believe in what they're fighting for and they've got a lot of public support behind them.

The Government has been urged to “take a role” in scrutinising the proposed Saudi-led takeover of Newcastle by the chair of the all-party parliamentary group on football.

<laugh> Our government have much more important things to focus on right now and are close with Saudi anyway. Any truth in what you have read and that is going to fall on the deafest of ears.

Hmmmmm. So you suspect that our government may u-turn on their formally stated position on our takeover and jeopardise it's multi-billion £ arms sales to Saudi because a Labour MP is using the NUFC situation as an opportunity to throw stones at them?

To be fair mate, I’m pessimistic about it all aswell but they do have a good relationship with our government. It’s actually more the piracy stuff what’s worrying me more than anything else for some reason.

There's businesses all over the country making money from Saudi , so why are these idiots saying it's only one business ie nufc that shouldnt be allowed . It's a ridiculous but, so was calling for a referendum and voting for Brexit.

They (PIF) will probably say that the piracy has been nothing to do with them directly (no proof otherwise) but that as a deal sweetener Saudi will put more resources into locating and shutting down the culprit. Problem solved. Also, the PL will know that the takeover would result in hugely increased interest in PL matches in that area of the world and no doubt Saudi would want to bid on the rights so their citizens can watch their team = increased overseas broadcast revenue. The rights are back for sale in a year or two and it will be bye-bye Bein.
