If fred is right and it's the premier league that announce then it isn't done.

I don't know if he's right on that mind

I'm sorry, I don't understand. Has DPP already said this ? If so, has it shown to be stupid in some way ? (I have skipped the last 20 pages or so of this thread)

I mean again there's very little fact there, a lot of opinion but it's stuff like this that gets me:
"And some will argue FFP won’t be an issue for Newcastle because they have big gates and a fanatical following, but it isn’t as simple as that. Newcastle’s kit deal with Puma is estimated to be worth £6.5million annually — that’s almost £40m down on Tottenham, close to £100m behind Liverpool."

Of course our sponsorship is a fraction of those clubs - we've been back up in the EPL for three seasons with 1 European adventure in the last 13 years, those two clubs have been consistently qualifying for and progressing in Europe to the point they both made the final last year! Liverpool are a historically great club who have qualified for Europe 19 out of the last 20 seasons or something and Tottenham have been slowly rising the ranks in the last 5 years, consistently qualifying for Europe's major competition. Funnily enough it also shows how badly mismanaged Samuels bum chum, the "numbers man", Ashley has done on the commercial side of things - partly through incompetence and wholly through mis-management - but no mention of that.

What was Man City's sponsorship income before their Shiehks came in and pumped money into every aspect of the club and the local community? I highly doubt Thomas Cook and Le Coq Sportif were throwing money at the wall.

They'll make anything the fat controller tells them to make. I'm stunned we haven't had SD or Lonsdale etc splattered somewhere on our kit, thankfully he'll be long gone soon and with our new found wealth the likes of Nike and Adidas may be falling over themselves to chuck money at us for kit deals, not only for the first team but our training kit like Man U have with DHL.

Spurs and Citeh will be ****ing dwarfed by us in 3-5 years time!!

I don't think he could have got away with paying pennies for the sponsorship of the kit like he did for plastering his tat signs all over the stadium
