yes and if the new owner was worth less 1 or 2 billion they wouldn't say much other than it won't make any difference to how well they do. This the key point for me.. It becomes obvious to anyone with half a brain that the real reason of concern is the wealth of the owner and not who he or they are.
Another spin on this. I woke up last night and went for my usual 3:15am wee (I’m 40 it’s ok) and I was actually thinking to us this is massive. But to them 300m is less than 0.1% of their wealth. Holy ****ing ****.
The amount of attention is ridiculously disproportionate to the size of the deal. They've spent a few billion on a number of other businesses recently, none of which had any coverage. And it's absolutely because of what it represents. The media LOVE their "big four". It was a convenient number for 4 CL spots. They didn't like it when Leicester did what they did, they're not keen on Wolves' emergence. They wish Solskjaer would be replaced by a big name and hate what Arsenal are about at the moment. Even feels like they secretly enjoy Spurs' continued ability to actually win something. They all need to grow up. Even if NUFC do get backing, we're no more wealthy or powerful than City, Liverpool or Man U. Chelsea/Spurs still have appeal, Wolves/Leicester will continue sustainable growth. All this does is help level the field a little more. Who enjoys seeing Liverpool/City utterly dominate? ****ing nobody outside of those clubs' fan base.
