Hope everyone is coping well with the Chinese virus

 

I’m finding it impossible to get a Chinese takeaway at the moment. Not happy.

 

Number 19 on my china man menu is fried rice, I think they must have made a mistake

 

I am absolutely gobsmacked this morning to find out that nurses pay a yearly registration fee - cost £120! ffs.

 

A foreign nurse has to pay something like £600 to use the NHS he/she works in. It’s amazing that people choose to go into the profession but it’s certainly not for the money.

 

I should have added, probably a good place to spend the £20M the old soldier raised. Albeit, maybe the government should be wavering this fee.

not sure the Govt can waive the fee as these professional bodies tend to be separate from the authorities from medical profession to surveyors . It then allows the professions to sit in judgement on their own apart from obviously criminal malpractice .

 

I think from what I can gather, so I'm not suggesting this is totally correct...but if you catch the virus and you are in your 80's say, if you go to hospital, the chances are more than likely that you will require a ventilator. The issue with that is if you put an 80+ year old on a ventilator, it's a high probability they will die. So it comes down to the harsh choice of reality, do you want to die in your care home, or in a hospital. I suppose this is where the importance, and I can't stress that enough of where PPE comes into the equasion, to help prevent, rather than the impossible task of cure, for people of a certain age or medical condition.

 

Have to say much prefer the Scots daily briefing to the UK one as it has more concerned with the nitty gritty of the pandemic and less on politics .

 

I understand now that nurses also have to pay into a body/union as insurance as well.

Maybe a good place to spend that £20M then?

 

Know nothing about the compulsory body / Union thing .

 

Ffs what fking hope have we got with thick ****s like this about.

I've carried working as well, wonder if someone can now pay my registration into the ICE?

They'll get tax relief on it anyway, or should. It's essentially free.

 

I'd love to be able to get back to work. Not a feeling I've ever experienced before.
