I would just like to say I think it is marvelous how all the Lewis fans know more about the incident by seeing it on the telly than the stewards who have all the camera angles the telemetry and the benefit of an ex drivers experience to guide them to a decision. No really it is truly amazing! well done you, give yourselves a massive round of applause. I shall be writing to the powers that be forthwith to let then know how useless they are.
I see it as a mistake and a deseved penalty, because he ruined another drivers race with a puncture. Nico's incident was almost the same, except Perez could continue with that nudge. If you take the risk and nothing goes wrong (damage) then nothing should happen to the driver, but if you do cause moderate damage to another driver then you should do.
Yes making a mistake is no excuse, do you not know that we all pay for mistakes in one way or another, and anyway the rule is quite clear it doesn't take account of errors in judgement. You make a mistake you pay the price simple as..
I'm warming to Hamilton; I really am. Though I've always said right from the outset that he isn'tas good as his fans think he is, nor as great as he thinks he is, he certainly does have style. What's he given us these past four and a half years? Fallen out with a team-mate, overtaking in the pit lane, overtaking the safety car, ignoring lights in the pit lane, lying to the stewards, hitting his team-mate, hitting God knows how many others, sacking his father,- the list goes on from year to year, and of course, we can all join in. "What's he going to do now? Who's he going to hit this time" are regular debatable topics at each race. Small wonder he's a major talking point. Being of a rebellious nature myself, I can appreciate that his misdemeanours roll on and on, and whilst it may strike uncertainty and fear maybe into the hearts of his competitors, it warms the cockles of mine. The man simply doesn't give a toss, and I have to admire him for that. Great stuff. Hopefully, he can line Vettel up in Japan.
Hamilton needs to watch some video of Jenson overtaking! Jenson has mad the most passes of ANYONE this season and not once has he crashed into anyone! Lewis has crashed into people on 6 occasions. Jenson waits until he has a proper opportunity and then makes a cool and calculated and more importantly clean move past the other car giving them plenty of space and not driving so close to people. Lewis on the hand makes opportunistic lunges and quite often these fail as the other driver doesn't jump out of his way. He is clumsy and careless and i think he can sometimes be a bit reckless too! Sometimes however Lewis does pull off a great move and he gets the credit he deserves, however he has to learn to be more patient without going to the extreme he went to at Monza! I sympathise greatly with Massa as Lewis ruined his afternoon! And just to answer why Lewis recovered better than Massa look at what Button did so we see what the car is capable of! (a fastest lap) however the Ferrari lacks so much pace, even a driver as exceptional as Alonso slipped back as the race progressed!!! And just to clarify I DO NOT hate Lewis, when he deserves credit I give it to him, like his brilliant win in Germany!! I just get fed up of him carelessly crashing into others and then he and Whitmarsh (along with some die hard fans on here) relentlessly shout "racing incident, racing incident".
Why are you jumping to conclusions that I dont like Hamilton? All I can see is he made a rash move which caused a collision which hurt the other driver's race much more than his own and so I feel was deserving of a penalty
You're previous posts on the forum hardly show you up as a fan of his Do you like him? If so, I apologise.
Strange day, A lot of people that are fans of him have criticized him today. And others like me who usually criticize him have defended him. whats up with that? Well I have more criticized the rules being too strict in this case rather than defending him really but still.
He has had too many incidents this year. If this was his first, then i reckon he would have got the benefit of the doubt. For some reason, it just seems to be always him involved. But its always his fault. When someone tries to overtake him, he is actually very fair and gives room when it is clear the position has been lost. The same respect does not seem to get shown back to him.
I dont like him but couldn't say I dislike him either, I do dislike a large section of his fanbase (mostly from the BBC606) who are utterly separated from reality and will jump to his defence at every instance with venomous vigour
in motor racing it used to be accepted that accidents would happen due to the speeds involved and the tiny margins at those speeds. there never used to be this many penalties dished out. so what has changed? everyone has the benefit of 50,000 camera angles and slow-mo replays and then can't understand why the driver didn't see the collision coming. is a sad reflection on the world that if you make a mistake, anywhere in life, you have to be penalised, faults found and scrutinesed to the nth degree. pathetic. we're humans, not computers.
Tbh I think they should stop the drivethrough/stop and go/after race investigation penelty, and give them a 3 strike option. 3 strikes and you go back of the grid of the next race without practice and qualifying, and a £50,000-£100,000 fine everytime. 3+reprimands in 1 race weekend should equal a black flag for the driver, that will make them think...
Tbh could Bernie get the rights for that? X-factor style: "Call 01798 638587 and select the number on how to punish Lewis" 01: Throw rocks at him... 02: Make him kiss Pastor... 03: Leave him in a room for 24hrs, full of number 1 fingers by Sebastian... 04: Massa headbutts him... 05: Sutil attacks him with a glass... 06: Make him watch Heikki do a C3P0 impression for the day... 07: Dress him up in Nicoles clothes and be a grid girl for the victim... 08: Has to drive a HRT for the weekend... 09: Must watch the Spanish/Italian GP in the stands... 10: Has to sleep with Max Mosley for the night... THE CHOICE IS YOURS!!!!!
Some truly truly sad people on this thread, I would point out just how stupid some of your arguments are against hamilton, but its such obvious jealous wummery , thats its pointless. Sya what you want but one man on this planet has millions in his account and gets to bang the daylights out of a pussy cat doll, hint its none of us!
I wouldn't mind his millions but he can keep that pussy cat dog er i mean doll, nope right the first time dog..
where have I said that? the stewards penalised him, so he was judged to be at fault. read what is put in front of you, not how you chose to read it.
