Was enduring the grand prix this afternoon and was bored out of my mind, so I wondered what other sports people can't stand. I have to admit to driving a BMW 3 Series car and I hate it, I hate driving and hate cars, so I'm very unlikely to enjoy cars going fast around a circuit. I'm in favour of all cars (except police, fire and ambulance cars) being controlled to not go any faster than 70 mph, as that's as fast as you can drive in the UK. When your going abroad, then some system can be used to allow you to drive to the maximum level for that country, but you must return to the UK level upon entry to the UK or else you could lose your licence for life. Anyway back to point of the topic: I also hate, horse riding, show jumping, polo, handball, netball, ice hockey, indoor bowls, darts, motorbike racing, racing cars, swimming, badminton, snooker, American football, cricket..in fact I hate most if not all single people sports, I'm a team sports person. Anyone else?
It's not a sport, it's a middle class game, usually played by teachers, lecturers, civil servants and kids from school who are in the debating society. Well at least it was at my school (many many years ago)....No dig Elland, please don't take it as such.
You're saying some ridiculous things again. I've no interest in rugby but it would be a bit stong to say I hate it. However I do hate cricket. It's a sport for c***s. All the players are c***s and they all have c***ish nicknames. Dickie Bird (c***ish nickname) is the most famous umpire and he's a daft old c***. Michael Parkinson is probably the most famous fan and he's a bitter, self-important, arse-licking, stupid old c***. Yeah, I'm not a fan of cricket.
Horse based sports are for the incredibly rich, so they can just get ****ed. Any American sports. Rugby because the fans are too civilised.
If you hate driving and you hate cars, why do you have a 3-series? You may as well have a Proton or something.
I have a company car and they are all BMW's. I hate it because it can't handle the Scottish roads, it feels as if the back will be coming forward at all times in the wet and it is utter ****e in the snow. I was told to put a bag of cement in the boot by a BMW dealer, but that would only increase my already massive diesel costs. There is also the fecking run flat tyres which cost £250 per time and I have had to change all four this year alone. I am happy with a small car, my wife has a Volkswagen Golf and it's great to drive, but it's not available to me, unless I take the travel allowance.
Cricket is a great sport as is rugby union. Rugby league however is for the brain dead. Aussie Rules Football is idiotic as are all the Gaelic sports. Snooker and Darts are not sports IMO and I hate all so-called sports that are judged and not measured like Diving, Ice scating, Gymnastics. Hand ball just looks stupid and I agree that motor sports (all of them) have little appeal on TV - however a NASCAR race has to be seen live to be appreciated. Anything with horses is not sport IMO and I dislike tennis. I admire the athleticism of swimmers but it makes for boring watching.
Why do you think cars shouldn't be allowed to go faster than the maximum speed limit? How do you feel about boxing btw? That's not a team sport.
The law states that vehicles in the UK that are not operated by the police, ambulance service, fire service or services working for the royal family and/or high level UK government, can't not travel at any speed faster than 70mph. With that in mind, why do cars need to go faster than that when on UK roads. To go faster is braking the law and as far as I am concerned, very selfish as you will increase the likelihood of accidents and death. If the law is 70 mph, then no car outside of the areas I have stated, should be able to drive faster than that. We need to slow down in this world and take stock of who we are and what we are doing to both the world we live in and the people we share our lives with. Anyway, that's only my opinion, based on over 45 years of work, stress, relationships and being a parent, no doubt many others will see things very differently. I hate boxing, and have never considered it a sport. I am however aware than many people enjoy it and that is has been used to help many kids with emotional difficulties and perhaps economically disadvantaged to gain confidence and self control.
Have you ever been on a motorway when there's a police car about and everyone is doing 70? Everyone bunches up and it's dangerous. The speed limit is too low and you need to be able to accelerate past it to safely overtake slow moving vehicles. It's reckless driving, including going too fast and too slow, that is dangerous, not speed. There would be far more accidents and deaths if everyone travelled at 70 mph, because more people would drive too close to the car in front.
Fine reduce the speed limit to 50 mph and increase the chances of survival in a crash. Lower public transport costs to the public and get more trains and buses on at all times. Get old railway lines reopened and get the big lorries off the motorways. Anyway, this isn't the topic, so I'll end now, I'm not a politician.
I actually like a lot of sports, Football is obviously number 1 but i also like rugby league, rugby union, F1, tennis. And there are some sports i like playing but not watching like cricket and basketball. The only sport that i actually go out of my way to hate is AFL. It is australian football league, its ****ing **** and the league is actually called GAY league. Its so stupid
Im not bigging myself up, but when if you watched / played at the standard I played at, you'd probably have a different opinion...
I can sit and watch most sports apart from Snooker, I used to enjoy watching it but have lost all interest.
