Ok tomorrow night I have to work, we have an ameter boxing show on at work and I have to be there just to make sure all the lighting is right and the ring announcers radio mic works. There is not lots to do but ultimately I probably wont really get the chance to watch the game.

I have got it on record at home,

Do I: try and avoid knowing the score and watch it when I got home?

Follow the score online or on here?

Try and listen to it on the radio at work?

I would have to turn my phone off as someone is bound to text me about it. My other half will also have watched it and will know the score.

    What do you think guys?

    Better off knowing what's happening.
If you set out to try to avoid knowing, it's guaranteed you will hear by accident.

The Likely Lads failed to avoid hearing an England result too. :)

Get hold of a time machine, pop forward to kick off and watch the game in full, then quite cleverly, just set the time and date to get you to work. Bingo, an easy solution.

Mind, if you come on here and spoil it for the rest of us there will be hell on, unless of course we get beat 4-0. Then you can say something to let me watch the other side.

Oh and if the first goal scorer is a 20/1 shot yet can say as well. A few extra quid for Christmas would be handy.

Good luck mate. I've got to go now as my medication is ready and the doctors in here are not too friendly.

You have no choice - avoid knowing the score and then smack on the nose whoever it is who tells you the outcome. The sheer pain of "news avoidance" is always worth a go and on the odd occasion it pays off is worth it!

From my experience - I have only ever twice tried this - recorded the game and avoided the score then, first time, got a phone call from my Mam to find out if I was going over for Sunday Lunch and she said , at the end of the call, "were you please with the 2-0 win", second time I was out in Sunderland (I know!!) and about 7 different people (my mates) told me the score - so I now don't try to avoid it and listen to the radio when I can't watch it live.

I will be watching live tonight though

Throw the phone in the river, get a taxi home with a rugby lover who'll be full of the World Cup, strangle the wife ... and enjoy. Have a good night mate.

Bit radical mate - "taxi home with a rugby lover". Dear me, whatever next?

I can't miss work or throw a sicky because I am self employed so if I don't go in I don't get paid and at the moment I need the work. Tonight I am the most senior person in as well so I can't really get out of it.

Last time I tried avoiding the score was on holiday a couple of years ago. I was on a cruise ship and they showed all the premiership games 1 after another, our game vs Liverpool was played 2 hours after the game. With very little outside communication on the ship and no real time tv like ssn I easily avoided knowing the score. I sat down in the bar in my shirt with a load of Liverpool fans, game about to kick off and a lad comes up to me and says bad result for your lads losing 1-0. I could have killed him.... I can only assume he was a mag. Lucky for him there were families with kids in the bar as I wanted to throw him overboard.

Well for me in Korea, Kick of is 4am Tuesday morning. Very inconsiderate of the Premier league I feel. Anyhow, alarm is set for 3.30am and I'll find a link and watch it in a near coma.
