Used to do a field day (over night) Ham Radio mid/late 70s at Dundry......
As for Bishopsworth and Dundry, I imagine there are a few names that we both know from there.. :emoticon-0105-wink:

I do the same, when you can see it is going to rain, when you cant see it ...it is raining ….

small world.. I have friends living just outside Inver.. 4 different villages .. massive warehouse just off A9 [ roundabout before bridge ] town is very quaint. Nairn lovely town and home of the shortbreads ….. only ever driven through it, should round it, e40 was closed near Jabba wockey, not right spelling and had urgent job for North of Antwerp so drove past it more so ….. if you go again go to hans sur lesse Namur to Luxemborg road … Paris been a dozen times in recent times since 2000 mostly in night / early hours arriving .. but always peripheric in rush hour 7-9 am destination was villa coublay … top secret military establishment!!!! In 70's centre of paris night time.. cortina mk111 pulling 10cwt trailer .. 4 in car .. busiest cross roads ever …. lined up on other side of X rd was 6 lanes of cars none by us wrong lane of a no entry Graham shouted quick go right now as we did from 50m away 6 lanes came hurtling toward us …………………..
Grenoble .. massif centrale … for many years had the deepest cave … closeby is chapel en le vercour … ski centre in winter .. my first ever ski ing was a black route near here... !!! in day light … second 3rd 4th were up mountain tracks to caves in the dark …… some fantastic walks near /around here pont en royan really old riverside town.. choranche had a campsite by river no swimming unless you wanted to risk the leeches ………… saw one young lad with a leech half as long as his leg … one of our party tried for 3 days to get one!! when he did he let it feed … was like a fat pencil …...before it fell off with encouragement of a fire ember! My last continental walk was the 7 lakes near here fantastic campsite and early start to give you 12 hours would take to magical scenery and back....

I love Inverness for a night out. Some very nice pubs and restaurants along the side of the River Ness.
The main street down to the river from the Station area is very shortbread tin but is aimed at tourists. Not that they'll be having many of them at the moment.
The company I worked for had a Call Centre and Back Office function in Inverness and other departments in Nairn and Forres.

Nairn is quaint and we love the Bandstand pub/restaurant and the Classroom.
Unfortunately the Caledonian Bar my Wife and I used to frequent every day has since closed down.
I worked in Grenoble for around 4 months and used to commute there every week from home. Mondays and Fridays were basically just travelling days.
On a Monday I'd get a Taxi from home to Bristol Airport at about 06.00 - Fly to Paris CDG on a BA Embraer 145.
Jump in a Taxi from CDG to Gare de Lyon. TGV from Gare de Lyon to Lyon Part II. Regional train from Lyon to Grenoble and the reverse journey on a Friday starting on the Grenoble - Nantes train at 05.55 !
Whilst in Grenoble I worked at Monbonnot which has stunning views of the Alps
Also know Annecy and that area well too.
Happy memories with little real work to do and lots and lots of time spent in bars

Sounds like you've had a really interesting job Angelic, taking you to all those interesting places (and Swindon too!!).
I can't complain - my job sent me to Lisbon last year and I was supposed to go again this year too, but apparently there's a bad cold going around...……..
Strangely enough, most of my 'corporate' travel has been via Mrs R&W who is a teacher. Her job has taken us to Hungary, France, Germany and Finland!
I'm coping really well with the lockdown, but resuming my foreign travel is something I can't wait to do. I have a trip to Spain and Gibraltar booked for the summer and also October, so I hope it's all sorted by then..... I also have a trip to Bulgaria booked for May but I'm not expecting that to happen - I'm currently playing 'chicken' with the airline - if I cancel then I won't get any money back but if THEY cancel I will!!

I did until redundancy in 2011 and I've then had to suffer doing a real job ever since
Despite my travels, I'd never been to Portugal and Porto was supposed to be the first stop on our cruise from Newcastle on 27/3 which was subsequently cancelled. We've re-booked the same one for next year departing on 1/4/21 so fingers crossed all of this is done and dusted by then.
I'm also coping fairly well with lockdown and have plenty around the house and garden to keep me busy. Having said that, I'm way ahead with all of the jobs I had planned.
Here's hoping that travel restrictions are lifted in good time (if safe to do so) for your trip to Spain & Gibraltar in the Summer. My Son and his Wife have had their holiday to Cyprus in May cancelled so I can't see you being allowed to go to Bulgaria.
Don't cancel whatever you do ! And don't accept vouchers or book again for free schemes. If the airline goes bust you'll lose everything. I eventually got through to Easy Jet after many many days and demanded a full refund which was not mentioned on their e-mail to me advising that the flights from BRS to Newcastle had been cancelled by them.

I lived across the road from the Cockerel, but Kings Head was my local (I think a guy called Keith was landlord at the time) for drinking. I played & helped set up a club (no longer around) which was initially sponsered by The Plough and then the Kings Head.. Used to use Ashton Gate for training on a Monday night, quite often taken by the one and only Norman Hunter!!
