They need help and support. London was full of homeless people in the 90s too. Remember when Lincoln’s Inn Fields was a cardboard city? That was on Thatcher’s watch.

Tony Blair pledged to get them off the streets, into clean safe hostels, and on the road to living a normal life. One of his government’s achievements was tgat they came close to ending completely, the scourge of homelessness in a modern City. Then the Tories got in.

You can move to Dublin and you have the exact same rights and benefits as myself and O'toon. There are a lot of English homeless in Belfast and Dublin, I've absolutely no issue with that. I hope they are fed clothed watered and have a roof over their head as much as I do any Irishman or Irishwoman.

Look at the system and not the human being Si, life really is pure chance when it comes to where you're born.

I think people need to understand that having things like homeless people and what we had with free movement is a good way to deflect from what the elite and tax Dodgers and Scum accountants get up to .!
I'm sure the unemployment caused by covid 19 will be enough for some on here and the Rancid Righties to blame for years to come !

How many more can we help and support from around the Globe before it's too many ?

Where are you going to put them in London?

Africa is having a population explosion they all need help and support, in fact most of the World has it worse than us .

Can they all come in ?

I'm not stepping over homeless people where I live, like you
So it's not my concern but there are more people in London since Labour were in government and not enough homes have been built to accommodate them ,

Do they have German kebab in Dublin?

I actually doubt I could just rock up in Ireland and get a free house and money but it sounds good .

Just googled it and Ireland have a special relationship with England and we can in fact claim benefits there because we practically own them anyway I guess, but I can't think of any other examples

You don't need any other examples. The Common Travel Area predates the EU by a long way and will always be in place because people decided cooperation is better than isolation from your neighbours. It has obviously been tested in the last century but the basic principle won through thankfully.

And English birds are dirty so the more the merrier

Exactly my friend. In a country that are in the top 10 economies globally the numbers of homeless and destitute people have went through the roof. Food banks are flourishing even working people have to.use them. At the same time the gap between rich and poor has increased exponentially now the worst in the developed world . Wages have stagnated to levels not seen since Napoleonic era as the amount of billionaires has almost quadrupled.

But it's all the immigrants fault!

As previously stated...nae accounting for the stupidity of gullible folks.

    @petersaxton to confirm.

Here's a FACT that will not go down well.

Off all people in work. Those from countries who joined the EU after 2004 have the highest percentage of people actually working. Sitting around the 84% mark at the moment.

Those pesky Eastern Europeans coming over here and stealing our benefits.

OK I'm convinced now , the more people from poor countries we let in , the less homeless people will be living outside Archers house .
