Other things that need looking at are Care Homes being charged VAT on PPE when the NHS isn't ... that's just inequitable and, quite frankly, inexcusable.

Last but not least - Care Home owners paying care staff minimum wages whilst turning over huge profits. Government should hit them with a levy that is then reimbursed to the poor fookers who are literally putting their lives at risk to look after the most vulnerable in our society.

By the way, I wasn't referring to the pen pushers at the NHS, I was talking about the people on the front line.

 

Govt will not do the latter as it would then risk homes closing as many have been struggling in recent years and in some areas there are no longer enough beds . What we actually need is a a proper Social Care policy but we the public refuse to fund it hence why both parties just sweep it under the carpet .

I should point out in light of my recent posts that i am hugely impressed by the commitment of the staff not just in the NHS but throughout the whole care system i just don't buy the whole "all NHS staff are angels" stuff .

Essentially the government missed out on an EU scheme that hasn't delivered anything anyway. **** headline that though, eh?

 

That’s the problem as I see it. Whilst it would be nice to reward the workers who have ‘gone the extra mile’, it’s where you draw the line.
NHS front line staff? Yep
Care home staff? Yep
Cleaners? Yep
Supermarket workers? Yep
Warehouse workers? Yep (the moody **** could do with cheering up)
There is a very long list of people who are working through these times and it would be great for them all to get a bit extra at the end of this.
Our company do a lot of reactive work in care homes and we have been to a few that have had a few deaths due to Covid. I wouldn’t think any less of our guys if they rang me and said ‘**** off mate, I aren’t going!’
I also think I know what you mean regarding your feelings towards the NHS. Four members of my family work for the trust and are embarrassed by the weekly clap, but that’s probably a conversation for another day!

I think it's more the fact the government LIED saying they hadn't been contacted by the eu .

Luckily most of em do give a fk and they give you great hope that alls not lost and that not everyone is there just for the money
