How long before he gets called up folks.Ive gotta say, Ive been very, very impressed by the lad so far.

When we were all debating which full back to get in the summer,I like others wasnt sure who to get. What I did say though was, hes gotta be good defensively,Im not too bothered about going forward,as long as he can defend. When we signed Enrique I thought his strength would be goin forward, but it aint.Defensively so far he has been excellent,he is just nigh on impossible to pass,he has pace, and hes bulit like a rugby league player, he just blocks the wingers off,and the wingers cant go around him,hes too quick.Reads the game well too.I just cant see any winger give in him the run around.Early days but I think hes a better than than Riise ever was, perhaps best left back since the 80's , perhaps even before that

Plus he can play bit and hes a decent crosser too.

Spain squad before xmas in IMO.

I have to say I agree.

When you first signed him I wasn't sure if he was the answer for you however after a few games I think you have a real steal with the price you paid.

The ball he played through for Henderson against Stoke was quality.

I think he will be in the Spain squad sooner rather than later as you say

The only reason he hasn't been yet is because Capdevila became the automatic choice.

He's getting on now (33 I think) so its only a matter of time before Jose takes over.

I think he should be capped by the New Year. We were saying it every week at Newcastle and we knew as soon as he left to a club more in the media spotlight (worldwide) he'd be straight in the squad.

If we were robbed paying £35m for Carroll then £6m for Enrique has more than made up for that. The guy is immense, he has such good feet, he links up superbly with Suarez and Downing down the left, and his assist for the Suarez goal was just brilliant. Our signing of the summer.

I'll tell you what he is, He's as dependable as Arbeloa and is more of a threat going forward than Arbeloa. That is the makings of a very good player. We definitely got a steal on the £6 million we paid for him.

I for one hope he doesnt make the Spain squad, they have a history of misusing our players and often send them back injured. Scumbag-Torres always used to go play for Spain, pick up an injury (cause he wasnt fit to begin with) and then take weeks to get back to playing for club. It was the same with Xabi.
And lets not mention that Reina gets picked for the Squad but never plays, often doesnt make the bench. Meaning he travels to Spain or where ever they are playing for Nothing.

I have lost all interest in International football (esp England) so I'd rather have Jose fit and ready to play for us and be over looked for Spain.

Training and playing with Spain will help Enrique develop as a player and mentally.

Not going to lie, massive overstatement.

Last year of his contract enrique is worth - 12m tops.

Carroll is worth 12m tops also.

I have to agree <ok> Flying to Spain is no worse these days than getting the bloody train to London so I hardly think a few trips a year will make him any more injury prone and it is the ultimate honour for any player. As a club we should have as many international standard players as possible so if our players are good enough (as Enrique is) then we have to expect they are going to be playing abroad when the internationals are on.
I do agree with you, RogerisontheHunt when it comes to international football and share your lack of interest in these games, especially the bloody friendlies however part of my distaste for them has stemmed from seeing so many quality players over the years overlooked in favour of whoever is the medias latest darling/flavour of the month (and I don't just mean Liverpool players). So I for one will be more than happy to see Enrique getting caps for Spain. Good luck to the lad <ok>

Andy Carroll is worth more than £12 million if a 27 year old Dimitar Berbatov was worth £32 million and a 28 year old Darren Bent is worth £24 million.
Andy Carrol at 22 years old has 7 years, yes 7 years of improving to do. He's got the tools to be an English Didier Drogba.

The reason he moved was to get into the Spain squad though, I'm fairly certain he would move to a club in Spain if he didnt get picked playing for Liverpool after a couple of seasons.
