Not happening my spanner buddy. You have to get a wum in among your decent points. Bermondsey and sprinklings of North Kent could soon be rejoicing with the death of the biggest club in South East London.
You should post my "The Sting" thread on Charlton Life. Surprised nobody on there has figured it out yet.
MuttleyCAFC 9:49PM edited 10:11PM Trying to fit this together and this is just trying to make the pieces work so nothing I am saying is more than speculation. What if the plan in relation to Nimer was to money launder as has been previously suggested? Stage one was to take over the club. First you get a front man who is not aware of the money laundering aspect. A wannabee billy big bollocks would fit the bill and Southall was on board. From Southall's angle Nimer gave him respectability his CV couldn't, but Nimer kept a distance. It was ideal for Nimer that there was no upfront cost in case he couldn't get through the hurdles. Southall may have believed he had big money behind him and lived the lifestyle accordingly. Totally cnutish of him, but he may have felt like he had won the lottery. Then the snag. It was clear a bit of money was needed in the transfer window, Southall even stated that is why the deal was rushed through in the West Brom programme so must have been expecting it. But the Proof and Source of funds was not good enough for the EFL and money promised was not released. Southall was probably spinning plates at this time, trying to negotiate the window with a transfer embargo that he kept a lid on, and trying to get money from Nimer he thought/hoped was coming in. Nimer was probably realising that money laundering was not going to be as easy as he thought. So a tension between the two parties developed into a massive row in plain sight. Nimer won that battle, but that was always going to be the case as Southall was potless and Nimer was the major shareholder within ESI. Nimer was our best bet so we had to go along with what he was saying and hope he was genuine. But the EFL tests were too robust so he has been finding it hard to put together evidence that would satisfy them and they have lost patience. Behind this is the fact that the Abu Dhabi royal family themselves are not averse to dodgy financial dealings as some basic googling will tell us. It would explain why Nimer didn’t walk away as there has been an attempt at face saving. I’m sure Nimer’s employers would not be happy at this scrutiny in relation to a lowly football club, and he has probably been asked to sort it out as cleanly as he can. Which might explain why he was out and then back in. But he doesn’t have sufficient clean money or has no desire to use clean money on a scheme that required dodgy money to pay off. Money laundering accepts wasting money to clean the money you get back. And that explains why we were purchased in the first place. When we all knew the asking price was ridiculous. This is not what has happened, just my attempt to put the pieces together. I hope it is wrong or somebody can put them together in a more realistic and positive way for the sake of the club we love. ********* This geezer nailed things earlier on.
A Millwall fan sounding like a Roland Apologist. That was worth waiting for. Of course, if Duchatelet had done to Millwall what he did to Charlton, your fans would have embraced him with open arms. Let the EFL do what it needs to do. If that means expulsion, liquidation, than so be it. At least we will be rid of Nimer, Southall and Duchatelet. Sometimes the poison is just too toxic. You have to let the past go and start again. It will be curtains for our little corner of this forum too. But we will pop up again somewhere else, and so will our football Club. In the post-Coronavirus world there will be many changes to football at all levels. Scum like Roland and crooks like Nimer will be forgotten. But fans of every Club that goes under will see those Clubs reborn in one form or another.
So it sounds as if any reserve of cash is gone. Didn't somebody say there was enough in the pot to run the Club until Christmas? That always seemed very unlikely. Assuming this story of the player contacting TalkSport is true, it sounds like the Club may be wound up in just a few weeks time. Maybe even sooner than that. I don't know about a 25% deferral, but where is the other 75% going to come from? I heard that the EFL had advanced Clubs some money, but there is a good chance that has already been pinched. If the Club goes down, everything that has happened should come out. All dirty laundry to be washed in public. If I was Nimer I would be a worried man right now. Unlike the renegade chancer Southall, I understand that Nimer has powerful bosses/patrons who won't like the negative publicity this sordid business is attracting.
So if £3M was left in the pot and it's all gone, is it safe to say the £4M solidarity payment given to Charlton in January and the sell on fee for Fonsu has also vanished into their pockets?
Maybe not. But you sounded like you were. Roland has got people queuing up to tell us that he's never done anything wrong; His disciples among the Charlton fan base. Jim White. And now you. RD has divided Charlton Athletic Football Club from its stadium, land and all other assets. I don't care if that isn't illegal. It is NOT the stewardship he was entrusted with as owner. He has brought the Club down after 100 years rather than take a financial hit of his own making - and one he can easily afford - because he is an evil, vindictive old bastard. Southall and Nimer are just opportunist pond life, who will feed off any easy target just as most criminals will. Roland Duchatelet made Charlton Athletic an easy target for them. He failed to protect the Club he was responsible for. How this guy still has a fan club is beyond my comprehension.
Now thanks to the EFL the **** is finally hitting the fan, so out come the liars again to tell their sob stories. Am I going to believe one word that comes out of Matt Southall's mouth? **** no. Am I going to buy any of Nimer's bullshit when he chucks some back? Bollocks will I. EFL, do what needs to be done. Kick these crooks out of the Game, even if that means kicking CAFC out of the League.
Southall was far too fond of living off the Club's money. CAFC was loss making at a scary rate yet he had to have his luxury flat, his range rovers and his hookers. Not the kind of spivvery fans want their ST money spent on.
Again, not apologising, but Roland has put £60M of his own money into funding Charlton throughout his tenure. Despite this, Charlton fans unhappy with the running of the club, campaigned and held demonstration's asking him to leave - even to the point of travelling to his home town to vent their anger. He has tried for several years to sell the club, and now he has. Should he have known they were just a bunch of crooks? Seems the EFL, Bowyer, Gallen, former directors and local media all thought they were the real deal. If you were Roland, wouldn't you have done exactly the same? You could argue that the mess you find yourselves in now is just as much the fault of the fans and CAST as Roland's
Actually can't fault any of TC'S post. In fact I remember quite a few Charlton fans around the various forums demanding to know why the EFL were mucking around and couldn't green light the takeover.
