She’s obviously a terrible businesswoman and all the more reason not to give her any taxpayers cash, I feel sorry for her staff because they are the losers, the Beckhams will still have millions when this is over, does she think the public will still shop for her overpriced tat, I doubt they will now

Oh I wasn't suggesting for a minute it is right.
    If correct it is appalling.
I was only suggesting why they would want to do it thats all.

So are you suggesting that the tax payer should fund the wages of a company that has never been profitable? Surely the owner of a business should be funding losses, as she was before.

To be honest, the Beckham example is a tiny thing relatively that makes the news because of their fame and the ease to support/criticise them. More worrying are companies such as Disney furloughing to save half a billion dollars, whilst guaranteeing executive and director pay... BA, Virgin and Norwegian Airlines also guilt of this.

Perhaps businesses over a certain size requiring financial help should be forced to hand over a percentage of the ownership to the British public. If the shareholders don't like it, they are welcome to go bankrupt.

I'm suggesting that a scheme open to every company, to secure the employment of as many British citizens as possible, should do exactly that.

It's easy to forget just how big the USA is, and some states are only just at the start of the curve, nowhere near the peak. Loosening restrictions in areas where the disease is still getting a hold on the population seems bonkers if you ask me. But we already know from the gun debate that many US citizens value what they perceive as individual liberties and personal freedoms, over and above "for the common good". Plus, from what I saw on the news last night, we can't dismiss the impact on their thinking of the past 4 years Fox News narrative of "fake news" and "hoaxes" from "so-called experts".

Anyway, there were three waves to Spanish Flu, and a comparison of how St Louis and Philadelphia handled the second wave (restrictions and social distancing in modern terms) is a case study for epidemiology and the learning on which governments are basing their actions. https://qz.com/1816060/a-chart-of-the-1918-spanish-flu-shows-why-social-distancing-works/

Fair enough. As they're expected to contribute financially towards her hobby business, I expect that's why chantelle, Steve and Bob have an opinion on the lockdown and the virus.
