I was aware but thought it'd make it even worse. I'm not even playing it now, spent a day and a half waiting for it and now my lads taken it over for a bit ffs.
It gets mixed reviews and I get that. I loved it, it's so immersive and the story and voice acting is second to none. So much to do and the detail is incredible. But maybe that's just me.
Don't get me wrong it's a brilliant game I just think you've got carried away a bit. It's essentially GTA but set years ago which means there's less to do. Spent most of today just doing challenges though I haven't done any of that crafting ****e. Tomorrow will be legendary animal day. There's nothing really to spend money on once camp is upgraded is there?
I haven't got carried away, it's just a game that suits what I want from an RPG. Money isn't that important unless you want all the weapons upgrades and clothes but even then it's easy enough to get. Just doing the animal challenges (including fishing) is huge, you then have the time traveler challenge, gunslinger, dinosaur bones and things in the trees. All time consuming. That's kind of the point for me, chill and enjoy a very interactive world while moving in with the story now and then, the story is king in the game and brilliant. It's the closest I've ever come to finishing a game 94% and I played through twice.
I'm currently at 48% story and 47% total. I've been dipping in and out generally but I wanted to earn money quickly to get more ****. Agree the story is very good but the map is smaller than I expected. Just seen that huge alligator. I might go for the 100% depending on lockdown. Can't seem to get a perfect pelt atm.
You need small game arrows and a certain rifle for perfect pelts. The 100% is very hard. The interaction with the other camp members and their quests are good and again not easy to find, is a game that makes you take your time which is what doesn't appeal to some. In GTA you can just go nuts, you can't in this or you'll just die all the time best to let the story guide you. Good example of the story is, I'm playing AC Odyssey at the moment, by far the biggest game I've ever played but I skip all the dialogue as I do in many games, don't think I skipped a moment of RDR2.
@luvgonzo at the John bit now and losing interest. Can't be arsed with having **** all weapons and no fast travel again.
