If we don't agree with Cest or anyone for that matter, you have two options. Argue or ignore! I find it crap that we now have a Sunderland fan deleting another Sunderland's thread.
If certain posts went over the top delete them not the whole thread but as we are all grown ups we should be able to self regulate.
I saw a particularly bad post on Cest's article and spoke up. If we all did that there would be now need for deletions and no need for Mods.

    I totally agree.

I only ever moderate racism (we don't get any homophobia), and that's my line.

The board is for everyone's opinions, that's the point <ok>

Well it looks like I was wrong then, pity. Maybe my judgement is out and maybe I should have a think.

To be fair to Syd lads, some of the stuff was getting out of hand. Banning is a last resort but I'm sure the mods thought long and hard before doing so.

Anyway, I knew you lot in the KGB (Keep Good ol' Bruce) just wanted to silence me anyway for my gross insubordination. Lol

I do like to post threads that provoke responses and get debates going and although I am not 100% convinced by my own arguments at times (just 95% Lol), I dont like to see some of the more uncalled for postings they sometimes attract by accident.

I like to debate football and Sunderland. I dont wish to bring race, religion or politics into those debates but will happily do so in separate ones. I have always been an argumentative bugger and enjoy the heat of debate (as I have said before, many of my views have been turned by your counter arguments gentlemen over the months) so let the arguments/debates/difference of opinions flow and let the darker elements be sorted as a separate issue.

You see this is what happens when there is no football on a Saturday or Sunday for us. Lol.

Roll on tomorrow and work and a match to keep us out of mischief eh? Lol

    Couldn't agree more. <ok>

Lets keep the arguing and piss taking.

Lets avoid the personal attacks and questioning of fellow Mackem's loyalties.
We are all SUNDERLAND till we die. <ok>

Hey Syd, do you not have the ability to lock a thread? So it is still visible, but nobody can post on it? Handy if a thread is getting out of hand, but you dont want to delete the entire thing... was useful in another forum i used to be active on.

Unless there is racism or real personal threats, then I don't think any thread should be deleted. Whatever mod deleted it needs to find something better to do

Totally inappropriate remark about a mod who has done a super job on here.

Wouldn't surprise me if Syd takes a sebaticle and we would be the worse for that.

    Anarchy springs to mind.
It will take a long time to recover and all so unecessary.
The boards should give pleasure to all SAFC fans.
    Al this macho ranting ................

Looks like I missed all the fun as I was working all yesterday and last night. Cest I disagree with you all the time, but I also enjoy reading you articles and posts. The only time I get a little sick of things is when abuse starts, and people start name calling etc....

To be fair I have moderated forums in the past and its an impossible job, you will never satisfy everyone you just have to do the best you can and try and keep an even hand and clear head.

I personally think its a good forum here, I prefer it to the SMB and rarely go there nowadays. At the end of the day its an Internet forum and football not life and death. The ref for my Sunday morning match was a lad I used to play football with about 8 years ago, his dad was the club sec. He told me his dad died of cancer on monday 3 weeks after being diagnosed, it kind of puts things into perspective.

past caring, this whole Bruce in, Bruce out debate is strangling the debate - its like verbal Japanese Knotweed.

Syd was right to mod this article imo - it was vitriol.

Having missed the article I can't comment on the content. I would just like to say to Syd, don't second guess yourself mate. You made a decision as the moderator and that's the end of it. You are doing a thankless job and doing it well imho.

    You can't be a good mass-debate.....

As has been said - it's all about opinions but some of the comments were too much
