even with incomings imo because if the player brought in isnt cutting the mustard you can revert back to shelvey and fix the mistake, otherwise you then look to players way out their depth like the longstaffs or a youth player you know nothing about at this level... too risky and we are rich enough to make it zero risk
much better than rose, but Bruce loves english crao like that.. i bet everything i own bruce would sign phil jones and sit grinning from ear to ear talking about his pedigree... bruce staying is a major major concern.
I'd imagine Bruce is already gone. I don't think there's any chance this regime will say "we thought we'd keep Ashley/Charnley's half-baked, cheap-ass appointment 'cos he's one of yous." I am waiting for a relatively seismic announcement, thanking Bruce, Charnley, etc., and an immediate overview of the new structure including, but not limited to, a DoF, manager, chairman, board and maybe even a player or two. No way Staveley's going to keep a two bit ****wit like Charnley, or Steve "how's the bacon" Bruce. They are symbols of an ambition-free Toon and will be burned to the ground.
respect mate and hope to see you boys back in the prem next year. I laugh when some folk talk to twitter to protest about the Saudis and fail to realise the Saudis are one of the biggest shareholders in.... yep... Twitter....
exactly .. they need to make a statement and put it out there this is a place plsyers should come to. I fear Bruce staying like I fear Alan Shearer becoming involved somewhere in the background... great player, but just not a good idea... hes about as inspirational as my used underpants and has no idea about tactics or how to play the modern game. people with brains are needed.
KK, Shearer, etc., should be welcomed with open arms. Always invited, keys to the stadium type approach. But not actually involved. This is a project and sentimentality has to be left at the door. Nod, knowingly, at our past but look to proper structure and investment for the future. Reubens wouldn't ask for SJH's advice on redeveloping the City, why ask KK what the club should do? We need proven individuals in a complete revamp. I'm almost more excited by the DoF/manager/board setup and training ground revamp than I am by transfers.
There's no harm in having the likes of Keegan and Shearer in Ambassadorial / Ceremonial roles. They're well known worldwide and have a close connection the the club. They should not be involved in any major club decisions. They don't know how to run a football club, and Keegans time as a manager has passed. The club now has a big opportunity to a) get in a proper manager and b) create a professional structure that we've solely lacked. On the latter, even creating a board is a big step forward. If they really want to maximise it, communication and transparency will be imperative. This doesn't have to go beyond what other clubs do, but being able to communicate a 'vision' and show there is ambition will be a breath of fresh air to this club. They can tell us that we won't change overnight but that there is a willingness and a plan for us to progress. To ensure we can compete in all the cups, for example. Fans will get on board with that and the management will be loved for it. And the fans will accept when mistakes are made. What I don't want is for us to just start splashing money around 'to make announcements'. Gradual progression with a well run club, developed facilities and with an awareness of what the club means to people, will be so welcome. Anyway, it'll probably get cancelled now I've said all of this.
That’s absolutely spot on mate. People who know what they are doing in the roles and proven. Not geordies.
Plus he wouldn’t stay for this purpose and also would be a bad influence in the dressing room. He would still need to play. With an engine next to him say like a Kanye. He would be ok short term.
To be honest now we have miggy and asm Shelvey should be pinging his passes for them to run on to. If he had some decent legs around him he could play centrally without being exposed to much.
I also don't feel that we should sentimentally bring back the likes of KK, Sir Les, or Shearer for the purpose of running the business. But if any of the old guard can do anything within their skillset to help the club, then why not? KK was good at judging playing talent. He's worked as a pundit watching games. Maybe he'd have a bit more knowledge than whoever at the club who watches YouTube for the next Joelinton
I see the thick part of our fan base are out on social media claiming its a wind up. Forget numerous sources reporting the sale and activity with Companies House in relation to registration of charge....
