I thought you wanted to see change, all I'm seeing from you is a bitter attitude, change don't come about by constantly bitching about it. At least I'm trying like the media to make constructive suggestions.

Just pointing out the blooming obvious. You can’t ignore reality forever, as the clowns in government are now finding out.

Still, at least we can be grateful that our country has the leadership it needs in these difficult times.

There are reports that the government are considering opening schools in 3 weeks time.

If people are to get back to work schools will need to open.

However, timing and safety is crucial in making that decision and the more I hear and see from those making decisions make me doubt that they understand this.

On one hand we are being told that keeping social distancing will need to stay in place for upto a year.

Social distancing in schools is impossible. 30 kids to a classroom don't allow for 2m spaces.

Playtimes and lunch times csn sll be staggered but the classroom space is a massive issue.

Then there is the fact that in primary schools there are around 100-300 adults dropping off and collecting (depending on the size of the school) so, again social distancing rules will be a nightmare.

In schools like mine the kids are liable to spit and attempt to bite staff so there will be an added issue of protective clothing such as masks, protective clothing, visors etc.

But in most primary schools they have kids with similar difficulties who require 1 to 1 staff with similar issues which means staff with them may need additional protective clothing but that won't protect the other kids in the class.

So who will educate and support those kids?

New York has seen over 50 teacher deaths from this virus...I have no idea about student deaths.

Those in power need to sort out these issues or there could be severe reprocussions with case numbers increasing.

There are no simple answers to many difficult questions but the lack of understanding being shown for "plans" is worrying.

Presumably only teachers below a certain age and free of other ailments will be allowed in. The cynic in me suggests it hasn’t been adequately thought through.

I know it’s not really your discipline but what happened with GCSEs and A Levels? Predicted grades?

I can see you are you're usual bundle of fun. Defo your thing though, anybody tries to be constructive, Archers gets out his little red flag. I don't think I've ever seen you add anything constructive to a conversation, you drag discussions down everytime. It's like a broken record. Yet, you were the one hoping it will change attitudes, which I agree, but you can't even change your own attitude.

How do you know schools are opening in 3 weeks mate, genuine question?

    I thought Gove denied this.

Edit; it might have been a specific date he denied, thinking about it.

Predicted grades. Bit of a bugger for all the kids who were coasting with a view to smashing it at exam time.

Yeah I’d have been ****ed and even worse if they’d based it on AS. Same with uni I was on a low 2:2 going into final year. Good times.

This years are bssed on predicted grades coupled with teacher assessment.

The SATs have simply been cancelled.

Not sure re next years A Levels as obviously those doing their first yr A levels will have lost 6 weeks education come the next review.

The were suggestions of keeping schools open over the summer but tbh that was based on the assumption we weren't working during the shut down which we clearly are! And it ignored the fact that we are not paid for all of the school holidays...approx 6 weeks of the 13 weeks school holidays are unpaid (we are paid for 38 school weeks, 5 inset days and spprox 7 weeks holiday entitlement and bank holidays) ... the othe 6 are unpaid...so there is no way people can be ordered to work unpaid for 6 weeks.

Whatever date they are opening, personally I think they will need to be the first to open, otherwise many families that have two working adults, will not be able to return to work. Most parent holidays are worked around school times.

My university degree (2:1) was a proper great escape. 3 weeks before finals I twigged that only going to one tutorial in a year for a specific module probably wasn’t going to cut it.

Sorry...should have been clearer...there are media reports that it is being discussed at governmental levels as it is a key part of getting people back to work...will make that clearer on OP.

Ok, when have you ever added anything constructive to this type of conversation, that hasn't ended up being some personalised bitch based on your political agendas?

Even though I voted Tory, I still air opposite views, whereas if Labour had got in you'd have been a nodding dog. I could imagine if Labour was in power now, you'd have been it's a pandemic, what do you expect them to do! After so many years of Tory, blah, blah, fooking blah.
