Of course I’m being pedantic Col...that’s me.
What I’m saying is that if I’m going down the middle bit of the supermarket.....and what I want is a few yards into the aisle that’s marked the opposite way......doesn’t it defeat the point to make me go all the way round the next aisle to go up that aisle to get my bag of crisps ?

    It’s all a bit bizarre......

Jesus. No criticism or examination until it’s over, when we can add up the unnecessary death toll/ economic self harm? And then blame.....who?

Questions need to be asked, different ideas put forward, errors pointed out and corrected every second of every day to reduce deaths and the long term damage to everyone’s lives, especially those already disadvantaged due to poverty. Other places seem to be doing better than us. Let’s copy them.

It's bloody sad every time I see those figures. I know of 6 people that have died from this and 2 in ICU (although one is out and doing well). I see my Mr's preparing to help many people at their lowest points. people who have just lost a loved one (maybe hours earlier) so she can help them through a traumatic thing. (That was organised by the government).
This thing is affecting us all. But rather complain and bitch about the government every day I will act like Capt Moore or my amasing nurse friend and also Mrs Ellers, who just get on with it.

No none of that thank you until after the inquiry. Cheerleading is fine and patriotic but none of that stating the obvious stuff.

    Thanks.
Wanted to hear it from someone who knows what they're talking about rather than no nothing journalists or people on hear (not everyone) guessing.

Most of the points you raise I had pretty much sussed out.
I'm still not sure what has caused these mistakes.
I'm guessing that a lot of it is down to politicians not being able to stop being political.
How much is down to wrong advice from medical experts and scientists?
Have they ignored most of that advice or followed it?

I'm genuinely not sure exactly how and more importantly why we are where we are.

Having said all that, it still seems as though there's so much conflicting information.
So many are dying we're told, yet the new emergency hospitals are nearly empty.

I genuinely find it hard to know just exactly what is happening and one day I think the lockdown is an over reaction and will cost many more lives in the future and the next I think it's the right thing to do.

I think the civil service has been very poor as well, it’s really their job firstly to stop politicians promising the undeliverable and secondly to deliver what is promised. I think they have failed on both.

I’m similarly stuck on what is the best strategy, but surely criticism, hopefully constructive, shouldn’t be feared by anyone genuinely trying their best?

I'm not a fan of the civil service, so we're very much in agreement.

It's absolutely right to question what's going on and what mistakes are being made.

I do question whether it's down to the colour of the government and more likely a whole range of reasons for mistakes being made.

I also think the government has done quite well at times under huge pressure and that things have become noticebly worse since Boris disappeared.

Germany, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Denmark......whoever has a lower death rate per million than us with a relatively transparent society ie we can trust the data deserves being looked at. Austria, Portugal, Norway, Australia, New Zealand......might be too late of course.

I think I have answered your question.

I think Beth went very soft on her list. It could have gone on and on to be fair. Ellers on the other hand was very thorough and deep. He put some effort into his sentence.

I'm still trying to not be cynical and just putting this mess down to pure incompetence of people unable to their jobs properly.
