Judging by the two faced ****e spouted about Liverpool and Tottenham furloughing staff I'd say he was from Hypocritia ...a small town in southern Bollocksia.

Yeah, talking of integrity, how much more bizarre can it get than 'insisting' that Liverpool, 25 points ahead with nine games remaining, be 'allowed' to win the league. Shows much more integrity (and consistency) to call the whole league off three-quarters of the way through, just as they did after three games in '39, and doubtless you'd agree was fair if we'd played 37 games and Spurs were two points ahead.

I come to the conclusion that to avoid all argument and lots of tear jerking, with screams of unfair, I think we ought to award Liverpool the title. Obviously everone else can just suck it up....but i'm getting old and listening to Liverpool supporters howls and screams for the rest of my life would be unbearable. All we need to do is put a little asterix next to it, saying 'awarded' not 'won.' Naturally if their supporters wish it decided behind closed doors, it should have a double asterix next to it with the words, the day football died.

Nice try. But you're well along with the stages of grieving, so I presume you've (reluctantly) accepted that null and void just isn't going to happen. Futile sarcasm is an extra stage you've inserted in there, but you're making progress. And the asterisk? Well how about *Denied the opportunity to set a points record that would never be broken?

But don't worry, our howls and screams of delight will ring long into your dotage. <party>

I've said all along I don't mind them getting the title, I believe that there's no way you can relegate the bottom 3 as it stands though.

Therein lies the issue though, as you can’t call it, without calling all of it.

I don't mind Norwich as it goes, always seen them as a similar sized club to Saints and we followed each other round the leagues for a bit.

I loathe Villa, but it’d be completely unfair to relegate them without the season being completed and them having control over their own destiny. So any idea of points per game or calling the table as is, just can’t happen.

Is that a rule? I'm asking because I thought this was an unprecedented situation. Someone on here was talking about force majeures and all sorts the other day (can't remember whom), and how that basically gave the Prem the right to do what they legally saw fit. Also said something about fairness not being important and expediency being the key. Must have been Astro?

Force majeure means that there’s been an unforeseen and uncontrollable act and in this context that means a contract can’t be completed with no party being at fault.

The PL makes decisions by consensus.

Hasn't bothered Belgium unless I'm mistaken. They've given the title with no relegation haven't they?

It's a bigger issue throughout the leagues here though admittedly. For example I'd accept a fudged 22 team league next season but it doesn't work throughout the pyramid when you see how close the other leagues are.

And is that consensus led by the objective of fairness?
