I looked into it and the area we lived in Barcelona is called Gracia, if you do ever decided to go back It's highly recommend if you want a relaxing time other than the las ramblas nonsense.

 

I think you may well have a point - Looking at some of the cities that have been given menshies in this thread, Barcelona, Rome, Paris, New York...I'm sure you could recommend somewhere far better within Scotland, because so far, it's just a list of regular tourist haunts, where tourists see more tourists and pay tourist prices.

I like Barca but would never live there, way too many tourists and north African scrotes, really leaves a bad taste in the mouth constantly having to fend the ****ers off and be checking your pockets.

Can absolutely see why it does the locals heads in.

Been enough times to not especially yearn to go back.

That’s sort of what I was getting at, no **** has any chill out there. A nation of arseholes. Probably similar to holidaying in The U.K. for foreigners.

Your list was probably the one that caught my positive attention. You listed Argentina and Peru I think it was (not looked back) - South America in my later life has been in my thoughts, but probably will never get done. Probably would liked to have back packed it in my younger days.

 

When did you go, before or after it was handed back?
My older brother lived there when it was still 'British' and I must admit I preferred it then.

Also been since, and it still remains one of the most vibrant, varied and interesting places you could possibly imagine visiting.

Can't see how it could ever be described as being overrated tbf.

 

I really want to go to the Peru. Possibly the first place I'll go outside of Europe.

 

But up in that area there's none of the pickpockets etc. Yes loved Glop.

The other thing on my list to do one day is an African Safari, though I've not looked into what countries I'd want to visit for it.
