The opposition aren't of any interest tbh.

I'm not taking sides because I don't have one.

I'm just disappointed in the government.

They've not handled this situation too well imo.

Hancock is a blubbering idiot. I like Raab, though. He’ll make a good leader.

The message is pretty clear. Stay indoors, stop the spread of the virus. The British public aren’t listening but also blaming everybody but themselves.

Although I am a Labour supporter, l agree that by and large you are right. The tories have been in govt for a decade or so and this have framed the readiness for such an outbreak and the responses since it started.
There is no real role for the opposition atm, Starmer is irrelevant for now. However when the time for a reckoning comes...

Atm it is doctors/nurses who at times are having to work without PPE, it is (Sir) Tom Moore, it is the folk in my village who paint rainbows etc on peebles so that children and others when out walking are cheered up, who are the heroes.

Imho atm there is no alternative to a longish lockdown and the mass of the British people are responding magnificently but are being led by donkeys.

I agree I am the same mate couldn’t care less who’s in government but if the opposition think they are so good why not give their great ideas to who’s in power at the moment instead of letting people die and saying I told you so, it’s because they haven’t got a bloody clue and why they are going to be the opposition for long long time.<ok>

When I was kid (12) I used to smoke about 10 tabs a day. I watched a Panorama programme where they dissected the lungs of an ex smoker. To me that was a life changing event and I never smoked another tab after that.

Watch this video and you will understand why people are dying and why it is so important to stop this disease from spreading.

Can't watch it as i enjoy a tab.

If i get it and die then so be it. I'm doing all the right things in regards to social distancing etc. At the end of the day the best we can do is take all reasonable precautions and hope the fekker misses us.

Sadly, this doesn't look like the beginning of the end or even the end of the beginning to me ...

... it looks like a massive crisis where cliches aren't really appropriate.

We have to ignore dips and peaks, just accept it's unstoppable unless we grit our teeth, keep our distance and pray for a vaccine or cure.

"Britain's coronavirus daily death toll today rose today to 888 - dashing hopes that the country's fatality curve may be flattening after days of uncertainty.

The total death toll is now 15,464 but it is feared there are thousands more due to a delay in recording hospital fatalities and the failure to include those in care homes. Today's grim daily toll is the worst in a week since 917 on April 11, and the fourth worst figure so far - after 980 on April 10, 938 on April 8 and the figure on April 11. But fewer than 900 deaths have been recorded in UK hospitals for seven days in a row, giving faint hopes that the darkest days of the crisis could now be behind us."

Local councils told to open parks they've shut & immediate families can attend funerals as lobg as social distance is upheld to me this sounds like a somewhat easing of the lock down or more confusion

It sounds to me like they're allowing people to go out providing they keep their distance ...

... just like with food shopping or exercise.

If people respect the regulations it may be extended to other things.

Sadly I don't trust a minority of the public and think some funerals will end up with drink fueled wakes and general stupidity.

They need to assume unfortunately that everyone is at the mental level of the idiots -- and we the decent majority will just have to accept further restrictions that we don't deserve. There always seems to be something where the decent have to make compromises , or go without, because of actions and behaviours of the dimwits and wrongdoers

Daily Telegraph ----- House of Lords peers demand their £323 attendance allowance for logging into virtual parliamentary proceedings. Claiming that non payment would be age discrimination.. Disgusting money grabbing b**tards. Like they need the money, and I bet even if they do log in, it won't even be a full days work.

If I am in trouble and need help and I have a choice:-
Helper No. 1 a known and proven liar, abloke who had actually caused/ctively helped to cause my problem and who I know deep down doesn’t give a sh:t about me.
Helper No. 2 No direct record but willing to try and help. A bloke like all blokes I know has a past but not one to actively harm me. Should I give him a go - knowing what I know about No. 1.
Too feckkng true I would. Why the hell choose a helper who doesn’t give a. . . .
