After reading posts from Cests thread last night, and Syds one today - it is a great shame to see that certain people feel targeted or singled out by either of the "camps". Please can I just ask people to think about what they are writing before posting -whether you be a BiB or a BoB. Cest, I permit myself to use you as an example, as I feel you wont take it badly and as you are one of our most passionate members i'm sure you know the feeling of your mouth running ahead of your brain.... I am sure you can think of an example of a BiB doing the same. such is the ways of passion. In one of your posts last night I read your opinion on Bruce, which is fine, until i got to a point were it went something like this "this is my opinion, as I think all true red n white fans should feel like this..." Now, you, as I said before, are entitled to your opinion as I am entitled to mine, but this makes me feel that you are saying i am entitled to my opinion however if i dont think Bruce should be out cos he watched the NUFC game, then you are going to say/think I am not a true supporter of red n white - and i could take slight at it. As I said, you have probably got some examples of BiBs writing the same kind of thing - i just happen to notice you doing it cos i am usually arguing against you. I suggest, to all of us, that when writing about something you have strong opinions about, you take a short time to read what you have written (before posting it) and think "if i was in the other camp, how would i take it" - i am sure we would save some falling out if we did this. Just my two pennies. Roll on Monday. FTM.
Firstly, making articles like this Is just going to stir it up more. Secondly, it's great when people disagree and have little arguments, it's all part and parcel. Thirdly, kissing someones arse on an Internet forum is kinda low my friend.
you disagree that Cest is one of the most passionate? I also said he lets his mouth run ahead of his brain - which isnt very arse kissy to me... I was just trying to find a nice way to say "opinionated, stubborn bugger" I think you miss the point of this article though - and I was just using Cest's post as one example
Well considering cest covers 3/4 of your article, it's not just an example lol. Why didn't you just label the article 'cest <3'
it is one example, and the only one i used so yes it would be 3/4 of my article. Do you want me to write an essay and reference at least 20 examples? You can **** off if you do, as that sounds like too much hard word work to me .
What the OP totally missed is that the the Bruce out Brigade was started as a way of having a go at anyone who questioned Bruce's tactical nous. It was made out that anyone who questioned Bruce wasn't a good SAFC supporter and shouldn't be allowed to post! The example made about Cest's comment was one comment out of thousands of posts, I would lay odds the BIB's slating anyone questioning Bruce outweigh that comment 100 to 1. I don't recall one thread started to have a go at BIB's, whereas there have been innumerable threads having a go at BOB's. Forum's eh!
Ah bollocks to the lot of you. Lol I don't think anyone should agree with me if they think I am wrong and I'm not forcing my opinions onto anyone who isn't interested. As fans we are all entitled to individual opinion. I don't think there will ever be a united front when it comes to teams and I'd have to think that day would ever come personally. I mean, how boring would that be? Lol
I don't know who is passionate and who is not, this is after all a web based forum. It sounded like you blowing smoke up a hole mate. It wasn't the chimney.
Yeah mate, good, nice area compared to where I was living in Birmingham, been going out in Peckham/New Cross, pretty cool!
I left the area in 1973 (what a year!!), and went back for a couple of years around 80 - 82. Would imagine all my haunts are long gone. Interesting to hear you refer to it as being "pretty cool"!!
To be honest, Cestria has posted so many anti-Bruce comments that I have developed an immunity to them. However, what does boil my piss with the majority of his posts is that he tends to class all Geordies as Mags, which in my opinion, is a slap in the face to the thousands of Geordies who just happen to support Sunderland.
Agree - said so in another post. Colour, race, sex etc is NOT what I'm bothered about - seems some are. SAFC supporters welcome, one and ALL. KTF
I tired to make it clear that i was pointing the finger at everyone here, not just at the BoBs. i dont know if it 70% BiBs doing it or viceversa, and i dont really care - i think it is stupid saying anything that could insult or inflame the opposite group when it could be easily avoided by taking a couple of seconds to re-read what you want to post. whenever you use phrases such as "all true sunderland supporters...." immediately implies that if you dont agree, then you are not a true supporter - how stupid is that, and how easy could it be avoided? very stupid and very easy to avoid IMO. I say I am a BiB, and I say that not because I think bruce is some tactical minded genious (I dont), but because a) I dont think it makes sense to sack a manager after 4 game and after allowing him to buy 10 players that he wanted - it takes time for any new team members to gel never mind 10 of them b) anybody manager we could get to replace him will have faults of their own, no manager is perfect c) Bruce is still the same manager who had us touching the European places beginning of last season, his tactical nouse hasnt improved or gotten worse, he still has the same vision etc. the only thing that changed between 1st half of last season and the 2nd half was the injuries. i cant see anything else that suddenly changed and made us go from potential european challengers to a struggling team apart from those injuries. We wont know Bruce's true potential as a SAFC manager until we get through a season without any serious reasons, that are not directly related to Bruce, as to why it went pear shaped (if it does). Until that happens, then we arent going to get a clear picture of what he can do (imo) Bruce going to the Mag game is another argument and I dont want to start that again on this thread.
Looking for intelligent discussion on an internet message board? More chance of getting buzz up 'anley on a wet day....
I think a lot of the lads that were paying money week in week out to watch the Brucey stuff had a good argument. I'm down in York now but did get to see a good few matches over the last year when I had family to cover my Ella and seriously ill Lollie. What I watched was crap and bearing in mind I had an overnight stay (usually in the travelodge) it was £200+ for the pleasure all in. I could therefore see the anger in the lads that were there every couple of weeks as a stream, sky or whatever doesn't give you the sight, off-ball or feel of the place and vibe off the fans in the pubs and ground. Two years since my last season ticket, two years too long. Need to be back there to enjoy and give my honest opinion..
