    From the BBC news site

“A new poll suggests that most people in the UK will want to alter their lives in some way after the coronavirus pandemic.

In fact, only 9% of people say they want life to return to how it was before. Some 54% agreed with this statement: "I hope to change some things about my life and I hope we will have learned from this as a country."

Some respondents (51%) said they had noticed the air was cleaner and others (27%) said they had seen more wildlife. Four in 10 said there had been a stronger sense of community and the feeling of neighbours looking out for each other.

And 39% are more in touch with friends and family, aided by the boom in video-chats.

More than 4,000 people were questioned across the UK for the YouGov poll commissioned by the Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce in partnership with a charity, Food Foundation.

On attitudes to food, around four out of 10 people are valuing it more – and cooking more from raw ingredients.

But the survey suggests those feeling fitter (9%) - and exercising more (27%) - are cancelled out by people exercising less (36%).“

So not all bad, but I think we need something really arresting, like a bit of bubonic plague, to really shape up.

It wasn’t stockpiled as part of a pandemic preparation though. That would have been forward-thinking. It was stockpiled because of a known supply shock on the way which is still on the way. On the contrary, it’s just you clutching for a good news story to give the government a pat on the back they don’t merit.

Another example of why we will struggle to overcome this disease in comparison to other countries. Half hearted

How to beat coronavirus in two simple steps. Clapping and wearing a badge. Other countries look to the UK for this amazing breakthrough!

How could we have stockpiled when we know it takes 2+ months for stuff to get here and China shut many of the factories or worried about themselves. How many more times do you need to be told that we couldn’t possible have prepared for this in the time scale we had. WHO has confirmed that as have many others. Nothing to do with the government or anyone else. Every country has had problems. You just have to move the politics to one side and look at logic.

Now, I don’t think I could physically be in a situation like that without a huge amount of stress and anxiety, so well have I conditioned my self to distance. Who are these idiots? What don’t they understand? What the **** are the police playing at here?

I’m the one looking at logic. We have an appalling rate of testing leading to a high fatality rate yet we’re one of the richest countries in the world. We still don’t screen people flying in. We have UK-based manufacturers ready to go and not getting the green light to produce. Cheerlead for them all you want but they can only massage the numbers so long and eventually even you will have to own up that our dear leaders royally ****ed it.

What all this has made me realise is that every **** thinks he’s an expert on things that he/she has absolutely no knowledge of whatsoever but instead gets his knowledge from made up ‘friends’ or from an interview he saw on the TV.......seen it so many times.
