****ing bonkers! You'd almost think it was a deliberate cull. Indefensible but some arsehole will try.

Not sure where in Spain this was, but the police officer wasn’t messing about.

Usual caveats abound, but if this is correct, Sweden's decision to YOLO a pandemic shows how essential the strict measures in place elsewhere have and will be:

And presumably had we carried on down that same path, we could have been looking at c. 700k deaths, unless I got that wrong.

If the presumptions made in that study are correct, yeah. Would be nearly a 1 in 100 mortality rate nationwide.

It's grim as all hell, but because countries are taking such variable approaches, by the time this is done we should have a very good idea of what not to do.

    Totally agree.

So are Sweden continuing with herd immunity, or have they enacted some measures? It could be a case of doing bigger all and it's too late.

I thought they were fairly widespread, so not living in such condensed space as the UK?

They have some social distancing, but loose: no gatherings over 500 people, going from memory. And yeah, that's their working assumption...lower population density will provide distancing by itself.

And perhaps it will. And perhaps those are the numbers *with* those mitigating factors providing assistance, in which case the numbers elsewhere would have been nigh on apocalyptic.

You too? I genuinely keep thinking I am in the middle of a bad dream and will wake up soon.

On the subject of dreams, alone else having more vivid ones? I am deffo.

I almost never have dreams that I remember in the slightest upon waking. To the extent that I wondering whether I was getting little-to-no REM sleep at times.

Yeah. Not worrying about that now.

It is weird though - I rarely normally dream, but at the moment I am having weird vivid ones. Last night I was running away from hundreds of people trying to touch me lol, so weird.

...and no, there was no alcohol or drugs involved...

Without doubt, it doesn't seem real.

And yes, dreams, I wake some nights terrified of what just went on.

Those ones where it takes a while to believe it was a dream, and plays on your mind all day.

    Yeah, that looks pretty damning.

I cant believe what may happen in the US if they open this month. Surely people are concerned there as they cant be past the peak in every state?
