We never actually closed. They just want to kid the public into believing we did

i reckon there might be a few factories opening soon supplying masks and gowns in the UK rather than relying on China for everything

I doubt it. Once this is all done business will be back to normal and the NHS will continue going for the cheap option.

In 1968/69 between 1 million and 4 million died worldwide. Currently there are less than 150,000 deaths.

The Cabinet Office estimated a flu like pandemic could cause between 20,000 and 750,000 deaths in the UK with 50% of the population getting it. If they weren't expecting this scale or magnitude then they are even more incompetent than I thought.

National Records of Scotland says 25% of deaths involving #COVID19 happened in care homes.

Nicola Sturgeon says the number of people in hospital and intensive care in Scotland with #coronavirus has decreased but warns that we should be 'cautiously optimistic'.

I got as far as this. Point 2.
Of the deaths registered in Week 14, 3,475 mentioned “novel coronavirus (COVID-19)”, which was 21.2% of all deaths; this compares with 539 (4.8% of all deaths) in Week 13.

Is everyone who dies being tested for the virus or are they just guessing at the numbers.

ONS is including any death with a mention of COVID-19. That is whether they had actually tested positive or if the doctor who signed the certificate just suspected they had it.

Given how many are getting tested vs how many are positive, and they have to have been pretty unwell and showing symptoms to end up in hospital to get tested, I think it’s safe to assume a good proportion of those suspected cases have absolutely nothing to do with the virus.

But then, I’ve no idea what the criteria are for a doctor to include suspected covid-19 on the death certificate. It could be showing any symptoms, it could need to be pretty bulletproof (proven contacts with positive tested cases?). Anyone know?
