Staveley's always wanted Rafa and to be honest he's an instantly recognisable figure, more so than Allegri or Poch. Plus the unwashed love Rafa, I can't see any other appointment. He'll get himself out of his Dalian contract easily enough!
im sticking on allegri ... the offer of hundreds of millions in windows toplay with over a few years is a big draw to a manager not to mention a new challenge in the prem and a crazy salary .. its a good project, hes out of work ... could be wrong, but im sticking on him.
I reckon they'll keep Brucie on for a season with players being bought without his say so and obviously being in mind for the next man. Just seems financially silly to sack the manager on top of everything else they're going to be shelling out for, plus there's two tiers of growth when clubs get money. The first wave of players aren't massive but gets you up the table, the second, with the new manager, gets you looking at Europe, etc. I'm thinking a bit like Mark Hughes with City. I'd obviously not mind seeing Rafa return but, if we have the money to build, would be happy to see us take a punt on someone else.
