I think a lot of the Far Left are going to George Galloways ‘Workers Party of Britain’.....or so I’m led to believe.

Yeah, that makes sense. The Blairites have pretty much taken back control of the Labour Party. After the electoral failure of the Corbyn experiment for Labour, I don't see the far left making much progress in the party for decades

You could feel the eyes of the electorate glaze over at this latest installment of Labour's civil war. There are two parties in there. Time for a split imo

We said it some time back Goldie. I doubt many will be defending Labour now?
I still go back to my post regarding that fab young reporter who said: "they tried to cover it up and it goes all the way to the top". I have forgotten her name at present but she seems to be on Sky/BBC more now.

To be frank, Ellers, it is good to have an effective opposition, and this won't happen if Labour are busy conducting guerilla warfare against each other

I agree. We always need an effective opposition but sadly in recent times that has not been the case. Corbyn was hopeless. Limps were... Limp. SNP only ever talk about independence. And all the Green woman kept doing was dying her hair and plucking her eyebrows.
as for now?
I firmly believe that Starmer was not the right person. I would have said they needed a fresh face. I liked Lisa Nandy. Although a bit inexperienced and needs to learn to bend the truth when being questioned... She was honest through Brexit and talked sense a lot of the time. Labour could have done with a female leader.

I agree about Lisa Nandy. I suspect her time may come. In the meantime, she's probably well out of mediating in the internecine battle

The problem with Labour is things were allowed to get so far out of control by Corbyn's weak leadership that both sides are now beyond reconciliation. As Stainesy says George Galloway is mopping up many of the Hard Left which basically leaves Starmer to finish them off. How he does it will shape whether Labour have enough appeal to win over their 'Red Wall', declaring a totally Remain Shadow Cabinet may not be the answer.

The fact the party is going into meltdown during the biggest crisis this country has ever faced in peacetime shows just how detached they've become...

Good post and agree Sooper. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Labour leader wants care home deaths to be included in daily reporting numbers

Sir Keir Starmer tweeted: "Care homes are on the front line of this crisis.
"The Government should include those who sadly die in care homes in their daily reporting numbers and ensure that all care staff have the protective equipment they need."

This is just in on SkyNews and tells you why this bloke will fail. They said yesterday at the briefing that you cannot possible add the two numbers together at the end of a day. It doesn't work like that. I even know this so why bloody hell doesn't he! Does he not realise that the numbers given by hospitals are not all from that day anyway?
All deaths will be recorded and put together in time.
<doh>

Snuck out quietly, no doubt. I don’t see why the government bod on the stage can’t give a full update weekly rather than hiding away from it. They’ve had to be coaxed into even acknowledging non-hospital deaths which isn’t a huge surprise given they’ve pretty much just left these folk to die with unprotected staff rather than afford the luxury of being treated in hospital to maybe live a bit longer.

That's a bit harsh Watford as I know a care worker in an old peoples home, who has PPE and is caring for all the OAP's and doing a fab job in Brackers!
As for the figures, you need to understand that when someone dies it's courteous to let family and relatives know and then you register the death. This can take some time to do. All deaths will get recorded and there is nothing unusual about this. The government won't be hiding this, they cant. Before the coronavirus people that died in hospital were marked as that, as others were elsewhere. It's how the system works.
Sadly the media are running out of ways to moan about what's happening and this is this on this weeks agenda
Starmer picked up on it! <doh>

Yeah they’ll have no choice but to focus on trivial issues like healthcare workers dying unnecessarily and having the most deaths in the continent.

It's really not that difficult to add 2 numbers together. They are not added together, in my opinion because it would show that the expert advice been given really isn't that good.

I just added it up and got three hundred thousand, and thirty four, nine hundred and seventy four thousand so actually it is kind of difficult.

We don't have the most deaths on the Continent?
It's not just here either. I have just read an article regarding the Macron having an argument with a Dr just before going on live TV due to lack of..... wait for it.... PPE. Same in Spain Italy the US and I can imagine other countries as well.
It's not rocket science there is a shortage... however I have heard something else which is quite disturbing regarding stockpiling/distribution and increased costs. When that info comes out there will be plenty to discuss.

You are right. I should have said being on course for the most deaths. That’s better.
