Mmm maybe but I need to get back to the politics thread because there’s some interesting news coming out about Jezza. I remember what all the experts said
I think Boris is a ****, but I'd agree he contracted the Virus, probably after following his very poor advise that has cost people their lives.
Good question, I think letting the virus run loose for an extended period was dangerous, shut down should have come sooner, we all knew it was coming a week or so before it happened officially but we had to wait whilst they dragged their feet. Even when they did start to take action it was so vague and the messaging so weak people were left a bit confused particularly in the early days. Even now when no one can be under any misapprehension they speak in slogans which just lack that bit of sincerity.
You can see why governments ignored their advice. I don’t want to sound cynical but there has been a few mutterings of money and funding to certain organisations. If true that would be a great shame.
Makes me wonder if this disease did come from a wet market. They have stopped selling staircase dust sheets for health and safety reasons (someone slipped and hurt themselves)! A wet market that kills tens of thousands and still counting, yeah crack on as normal.
Just for clarity, I don't believe Boris' illness was faked but I dont believe we've been getting the whole truth. You listen to or read any account from anyone who has had this illness and had to be admitted to ICU and you tell me his recovery adds up. 3 days after being in an ICU he's able to give a 5 minute speech on telly with nary a hint of a cough or dry throat, this illness has been leaving people barely speaking in a hoarse whisper as they recover, recovery which appears to take weeks. So yes I believe he was ill and had the virus but his survival being 'touch and go' just doesn't seem to ring true and tally with other people's accounts of having this illness. But I'm not a doctor so what the **** maybe it is exactly as they've said it is.
To be totally truthful I dont care either way. He's out, he's fine. Let's hope the rest suffering get the same level of care and make recoveries. He certainly looked unwell at the time and if it was all a load of bollox (which I seriously dont think it was) then his career would be over. Even he isn't that daft.
I wondered about that. Maybe he had the worst of it before he went in, but it does seem a very swift recovery. Ironic that, under Patel's new rules, that those two nurses probably wouldn't have been here and if we'd had a home secretary like her, when her parents came here, she wouldn't be here either. Now there's a thought.
It's how we move forward from here on though that matters. Maybe this has opened some peoples eyes to the fantastic nhs who do deserve all their recognition and the pay cap removing. All the immigrants helping to sustain the NHS from cleaners to consultants. Hopefully there will be some positives to come out of all this.
I don't trust China with anything they say. Just look at Hong Kong and the number of protesters that have disappeared or been imprisoned on crap charges. The story about the 're-education' camps for Muslims. It reminds me of Nazi Germany. Countless stories of anyone questioning the state seem to disappear. The weirdest thing recently was the whistleblower doctor who spoke out suddenly got Coronavirus died that night, cremated and returned to the family in an urn a day later? As I said I wouldn't trust them as they are dangerous.
That is increasingly my view. And now they seem to have WHO in their pocket. No wonder Trump wants to stop funding it. Could be as corrupt as FIFA
I did hear very early on, I no longer know if this is true, that the Germans had a very different accounting system. If a person who died with only symptoms of CoVid and tested positive they were classed that they had died of CoVid, but if the patient died of something else , say a progression of cancer or heart disease, even if they tested positive they were not ascribed to a CoVid death, even if an "opportunist" infection of the virus may have sped that death up. But early detection and treatment would certainly be beneficial, and would provide a must better recovery . Germany had anti-viral testing and contact tracing in very early. They also have a different national character and a different leadership than we do. They get things done. All together they were better prepared. They also have a drug manufacturing and diagnostic assay production centres in Germany. The two I worked with were in Lubeck and Leipzig/Dresden both of them would have easily been turned over to population testing within days.
Funny you say that Goldie because that's what the bod on TV said recently as to why Trump said what he did. It's a very sad day when the WHO may be political or financially motivated. Are there no World organisations we can trust now?
****ing hell Frome, what are you playing at? The rules of this place are that if someone asks you a direct question the last thing you do is ****ing answer it openly or honestly. That’s for mugs. You ignore it and use it as an excuse to spew out unrelated stuff, usually a rant against your political enemies, some unsourced opinion dressed up as information which supports your worldview and hopefully with a bit of abuse thrown in for good luck. And when anybody responds to you in the same way you tell the world how hurt you are and publish a ten thousand word retrospective defence of everything you have ever said, done or thought which proves you right about everything, always. Get it?
My mate who works in Germany was offered a test very early on, however, it clashed with his return home so it never happened. When he spoke to his boss in Germany a week later she was shocked that he hadn't been tested here.
