Apparently so. And the first casualty is the truth again, if all this sponk about null and void being the fairest way to end the season is anything to go by.

Yes that’s the fairest way for all...reset to last season

    This season is unfinished

You think it’s unfair because I’m a Spurs fan saying it

I don’t see the big deal...things are always called off..football is not beyond that.

    We go again September hopefully

Why would clubs facing relegation support resuming the league for the £35m they hang on to?

    What have I swerved?

I just cant work out why, if the season is to be terminated, you think null and void is more reasonable than where we are now, average points, or 1 point per game. It's like running a grand prix three quarters of the way and not having final positions because the race wasnt finished. Then again, if you start at fourth place on the grid and are five laps behind in tenth place, then I guess you would want it voided.

Who said they do? The likes of Norwich are just keeping their gobs shut after the lambasting Brady got after being honest too early.

And you swerved my post about the alternatives for Sky / BT as opposed to a clawback. Don’t try and pretend you didn’t read it <laugh>

Yeah and you’d obvs have exactly that same view on a points per game finish if you were a supporter of Villa mate <laugh>

You missed the point that PL clubs are already being awarded estimated prize money based on their position this season (not last season) and that being an indication of the intention to actually complete this season.

Your solution is that the entire season is voided but everyone still gets the prize money for their current position?

Are there any Villa fans on here? Do they actually think they should stay up on the technicality of a global disaster?

I haven’t missed any point. The way the premier league chooses to share out part of the TV revenue i.e. via league position, doesn’t alter the fact that the revenue paid by Sky is per season for the broadcast rights.

They’ve therefore had 3/4’s of what they paid for, and there’s other ways they can receive value for the remainder, that doesn’t involve behind soulless closed doors games at central locations.

They had every chance of getting out of it, they had 10 games left to save themselves.

So they wouldn’t be staying up on a technicality, you’re advocating they should be relegated so Liverpool can be crowned champions. Sounds fair.

And if stadia can't get back to full capacity for 18-24 months?

No I'm advocating the season is finished and they get whatever they earn

But according to you the Villa home crowd in a couple of games would have turned the entire season around despite doing **** all for them so far

Ending on an average points per game results in teams being relegated who haven’t actually been relegated and teams gaining European football at the expense of others without actually achieving that.

Finding an alternative to how the finances get sorted is different to deciding what happens to league positions.

Null and void is clearly a fairer way of doing things than just using the current standings...
If you use current standings then teams are unfairly penalised and denied the opportunity to improve there fate. If the season is null and void then everyone equally loses this seasons progress.

Only the season didn’t finish, so no one has earned anything in terms of league finishing position.

You're the one comparing this scenario to WW2. That was 7 years. I'm asking you to consider 18 months. What's your plan? No football or behind/reduced?

You earn points every game. The last 9 aren't worth more than the previous 29.
