Just smoke a joint. He says that works too.

So you keep saying on every subject without foundation ........ Are you saying cannabis has no health benefits at all for any illnesses...... I'll say again cannabis cannot help everyone for every illness but it helps lots for lots of different illnesses.

See the difference bet you don't :afro:

I’m curious what the source of that photo is as it has the NHS logo rather than a trust logo but as far as I’m aware the NHS has decided not to release national guidance but instead to ask for local decisions to be made in relation to who gets treatment and what type.

It's being reported by the financial times as being circulated to all doctors.

Got a link?

The frailty scale is definitely real, it’s something that existed before Covid-19, i’m just curious about this as I know it was decided that national guidance on Covid-19 treatment levels in relation to the frailty scale would not be sent out. So either someone took it upon them self to do this over the weekend, the decision has been changed since Thursday, or it’s fake news.

Not that these decisions won’t be being made and the photo does a good job of highlighting the kind of decision making that will be required. I’m just dubious about it being what it’s being made out to be.

I could of course be wrong!

This is where it came from, so I can't see it being fake, if it is its a pretty big clanger!

Yeah I’ve just been reading the article. Looks like it was NICE who came up with it. So it should have joint branding. This is why I wasn’t sure about it because I know the NHS decision had been to leave it to a local level. NICE should use joint branding for documents they come up with but haven’t on this, so it looked potentially fake. But it’s probably some silly bastard rushed it out and didn’t brand it properly.

I'm not really sure why it is neccessary to put that in the public domain, do we not have any respect for people and the NHS anymore, do we have to know every little detail.

Some doctor obviously decided the media needed a copy. Even though it’s supposed to help the doctors make decisions and ultimately it’s their professional opinion that overrides it.

Exactly my thoughts.
Charts and protocols like this are pretty common within the NHS, not sure what good it does to the public’s thoughts/mental health things like this been banded about, especially without context.

Journalism is at a really crap place right now though, nothing is going on except coronavirus so they’re all desperate to create stories. It’s poor journalism.

it is only common sense that there are guidelines iro effective treatment outcomes if nothing else we regularly hear of appeals to NICE to authorise the purchase of expensive new drugs which have been as not good value for money / not effective .
Anyway i only scored 4 :emoticon-0141-whew:

What’s poor about it exactly? It’s merely reporting actual facts, and provided the visual evidence.

Then maybe that doctor should be reprimanded, the medical profession is meant to show professionalism of conduct. Not be selling or giving bits to the rags of the media as they think fit.

There is already problems with parents not taking their children to hospital, through fear of the virus, now we are circulating that same fear out to the elderly, who will say, no point getting help, as I will not get a ventilator, but that may not be the case at all, as we know that document will be worse case scenario and should have been treated in the strictest confidence.

There just seems to be a lack of respect these days.

Something not too dissimilar to what’s going on with my nana at the minute.
Had trouble swallowing etc last year. Had an endoscopy done and found a massive tumour in her oesophagus. She’s in her 80’s (in pretty good health besides the tumour but still quite frail.)
The options given to her regarding treatment obviously discounted some of the more intensive treatments which would either kill her off or make her worse.
I have no doubt that if she was half the age the options would have been far greater. She’s basically palliative care but with a DNR etc if she takes a turn at home.
