I’ve had a couple of pops, but I have zero expectations that anything will change regarding them as a result of this. They gave us the virus, lied about it, sold us **** kit, and have a near global monopoly on the raw materials that go into many heavily used medicines - including those now, apparently, in short supply in ITUs. The world, not just us, will be dependent on China’s economy to drag us out of recession, the recession that the Chinese made. We’ll be too scared to hold them to account, or even politely ask that they close live animal markets. The pathetic, fawning, arse licking of the WHO towards them will be seen from many governments.
I don’t think the Chinese Government did this on purpose, their economy and population have also taken a beating. But they are certainly manoeuvring to be the big and only winner out of it, tightening their grip on the world economy and the infrastructure of lots of countries which will be beholden to them in perpetuity, economic satellite states. All helped because for the first time in my lifetime the US has a president with no interest in world leadership, leaving a lovely vacuum for Xi to fill.
Still if you treat totalitarian bullies as if they are normal, acceptable members of the world community simply because they are economically powerful you really deserve to reap what you sow.
Enough?
Are Germany still not using a different recording system though?I think China's figures on the Worldometer are pure fantasy but no one will ever know how long or how many have had it or died from it. As for the media, whom I get the feeling are almost willing us to have the worst death rate, this graph perhaps throws things into a more sensible perspective based on deaths per million of population, as it's always likely the biggest populations will produce the highest total numbers, Whichever way you look at it Germany still come out pretty well at present...

Maybe I'll lick out the Creme Egg first then
The Chinese in my opinion seem to be hiding something, what, I dont know and we may never find out. It's not that nobody cares about it, its lack of knowledge about what truly goes on or has gone on there. There are some that are Tory bashing, that's irrelevant to myself, I'm really dissapointed in the government of the day which just happens to be conservative. It could be any party and if they had acted or not acted as the case seems to be, then I would blast them just as much. I just wish they had the decency to act more humble in their approach. There have been major issues throughout this pandemic, sometimes you just have to throw your hands up and say ' yes we got that wrong or sorry we were too slow to act on that'. People need to get over this party divide and rightly question what's going on despite their allegiances. In all fairness Nines I have been vocal a few times about China but no one seems to care about that.... it’s all the Tories fault. China disgusts me with how certain members of their population act. I was also surprised at how a mass populated country can manage to keep the disease to one small area, lockdown or not. I don’t believe them.

I believe so however I heard an interview today explaining why they have been so effective. Are Germany still not using a different recording system though?

She’s quite good isn’t she? I like the way, when the bloke said ‘this is tens of trillions of $’ she takes it straight to back to lives, jobs and mental health, which is unusual for an economist. You must log in or register to see media

I’m really beginning to wonder how accurate the figures are of deaths FROM Covid are.
Am I right in saying deaths at home or in care homes aren’t counted ?
And even if they are, how many of these are actually COVID related and how many are from other things.
As an example, I spoke to my friend who’s mum died recently in a care home and her death was put on the certificate as COVID......but NO TEST WAS DONE , however some residents in the home had been tested as positive so I’m led to believe.
Therefore how can this be proven ? From the symptoms explained to me, it could more likely of been Sepsis, which kills far more elders.
Just makes me curious and a bit sceptical of the figures being muted.
