In today's news from the colonies

18 new cases
1330 in total
471 have recovered
14 in hospital
5 in icu
Just the 4 deaths so far

2 of those deaths are from the same rest home and they are expecting more deaths from there

What's your guess on when the lockdown ends? Trump wants to relax restrictions on 1st May, which would be a bold move. I'm guessing end of May here.
Competition going up my club, when will the first pub be open in England after shutdown. Gone for 1/6/20 and 21/7/20.

Can’t see how it’ll be doable in six weeks. End of July is probably about right. I’ve got early August in the “when will the office open?” sweepstake.

Not being into that kind of stuff......but isn’t this just an illegal streaming site ?
I’ve used it and it works (someone sent it to me last week) but what’s the legality of it ?

Is it as bad as going for 2 walks.......or buying a mint Aero while out shopping for parsnips ?

Not so sure about this one, as they've lifted the decoding in the US I'd assume it would be similar to watching Freeview. I don't know what the plans are for re-introducing the coding after the lockdown so take advantage whilst it's there.

I usually stream from apps, and hadn't seen this site before - if you're really worried, buy yourself a VPN to hide your IP address.

I'm also surprised that this thread has politicized itself with the demonisation of the UK and its politics. No mention of China, where this all started from strangely?
I’ve had a couple of pops, but I have zero expectations that anything will change regarding them as a result of this. They gave us the virus, lied about it, sold us **** kit, and have a near global monopoly on the raw materials that go into many heavily used medicines - including those now, apparently, in short supply in ITUs. The world, not just us, will be dependent on China’s economy to drag us out of recession, the recession that the Chinese made. We’ll be too scared to hold them to account, or even politely ask that they close live animal markets. The pathetic, fawning, arse licking of the WHO towards them will be seen from many governments.

I don’t think the Chinese Government did this on purpose, their economy and population have also taken a beating. But they are certainly manoeuvring to be the big and only winner out of it, tightening their grip on the world economy and the infrastructure of lots of countries which will be beholden to them in perpetuity, economic satellite states. All helped because for the first time in my lifetime the US has a president with no interest in world leadership, leaving a lovely vacuum for Xi to fill.

Still if you treat totalitarian bullies as if they are normal, acceptable members of the world community simply because they are economically powerful you really deserve to reap what you sow.

Enough?

In all fairness Nines I have been vocal a few times about China but no one seems to care about that.... it’s all the Tories fault. China disgusts me with how certain members of their population act. I was also surprised at how a mass populated country can manage to keep the disease to one small area, lockdown or not. I don’t believe them.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people who neither think nor care about the bigger picture or the long term

It is all about the here and now....and somehow we'll muddle through the lònger term

Of course we could've chucked our lot in with the EU...we really missed out on all the PPE they sourced for Italy and Spain....ah...hang on...
