We are where we are, I'm afraid, years of under investment and buying cheap China crap for years has left us and half the world at their mercy. The world being scared to put China in isolation in Jan has caused the problem.

As for my holiday, you're making that up too. Countries locking down had nothing to do with it, certainly not the ones with ports I was due to visit. Indeed, the ship continued with the cruise devoid of passengers. It was a decision made by all cruise lines worldwide, as I understand it. My major upset was about NCL's handling of our disembarkation, if you recall. Or perhaps you prefer not to.

For someone who comes from Scotland you seem to know absolutely nothing about the place. You don't know when Scotland went into lockdown or shut schools, how embarrassing for a scot.
Genuine question. How the hell, in a country of 60m can there be a shortage of ppe equipment and clothing. Can nobody stitch together the basic looking surgical garments or manufacture the Perspex face masks. Surely some of the thousands of factories closed could diversify into making this stuff. It’s very basic
